my the2wheels levers are fading fast. Just like everyone else says, they are losing color quick. Thats what 35 bux gives you :)
Send them to NJcustom and have him powder coat them

I have the black ones and they are holding up well so far.

I've got a set of the2wheels black levers on my FZ6R, and they're the same color as when I put them on a year ago. Granted, my bikes are garage kept, and were in winter storage for over five months of that year. But even if they only stay black for two seasons, I could replace them three or four times (6 or 8 years) and still not pay what I'd pay for one set of Pazzos, or ASVs.

That being said, I did order the Triumph branded short levers from the dealer when I ordered my bike. These are just Pazzo levers with "Triumph" etched on them I gather. Since they still haven't arrived and it's now been two and a half months, I think I'll cancel them and get something somewhere else.

So I decided I like my bike better on its side and now get the privilege of repairing the damage. The first picture shows whats left of my Woodcraft frame slider and in its defense it surely wasn't designed for what happened to it. The damage was caused when the slider bent back and contacted the cylinder head.

I just got my 2010 D675 rear shock in the mail yesterday (bought from a fellow forum member). I can't wait to get home next week so I can put it on! Oh, and see my wife too.

I'll be moving out of the country next month and this last weekend was the last free one I had. I decided to do some road trippin. Took a ride up to northern Mass on Friday to see SalisburyGuy. About 200 miles to his place.

Saturday we got out to southern NH and into Maine for a bit. Weather was in the 90s, but there are ways to beat the heat and keep the ventilation going  Some decent miles.

Sunday we took a big ride up to Mt. Washington in NH.

Halfway there:

Blue skies all day until we were 1 mile from the mountain. Then complete darkness.5 hours into the ride and 1/4 mile from the access road, the sky opened up and downpoured for 15 minutes. We went to the lodge across the street to wait out the rain. When it stopped and the roads dried up, we went across the street to go up the mountain. They wouldn't let any bikes up because part of the access road is dirt, and the staff felt it was unsafe. We kicked stones for an hour, and tried again. No luck. Still, we hit some mountain roads in the area and burned some premium octane.

Yesterday, Monday, I headed back to Connecticut. 170 miles into my ride home, and 30 miles from my house, my low fuel light came on unexpectedly. I only had 44 miles on the tank. I pulled off the highway into a commuter lot, turned off the bike and checked the fuel tank. Plenty of gas. Went to turn the bike back on, and...nothing. lights came on, pump primed, but the starter made one struggling click and that was it. Phoned my old man and he came to the rescue.

Dead RR? Yep. Got home and put the multimeter on it. No charge. Called TJ this morning. Put in an order. Pulled the old one an hour ago and now I wait.

All in all, it could have been a lot worse. About 950 miles in total this weekend and I was waaaay up in the middle of nowhere Saturday and Sunday. I could have been stranded. I was very fortunate it died so close to home and my weekend wasn't spoiled with this earlier on.

how are you liking the 520 conversion? I guess it's hard to tell considering you also went +2 in the rear? Overall though?

....and damn Talus! How do these R/R's just poop out on people just like that with no warning! worries me.

Glad to see you were able to get a good ride in before saying goodbye to your ride. Sucks that you got bit by the R/R bug, if you get it ordered now it might be here by the time you get back.

Have a safe trip and don't forget about us!

Nice report Talus and glad you didn't get stuck up the top of Mt. Washington with a dead RR
Yeah me too!

TJ is good with parts. Should be back on the road by the end of the week.

I'll be in lurk mode here on the forum when I'm in Honduras. Lots of projects and work to keep me busy while I'm down there.

Talus and Sveesix, thank you for the 21 Year old Glenfiditch Scotch. Its wonderful!
Fantastic ride this past weekend. Speed Triple on Saturday, Explorer on Sunday to MT Washington (almost) :(
What if you got stuck on the montain? Holy sheeet! So lucky it was on 30 miles from home.
l
Not looking forward to your last trip back to Salisbury where you drop off your bike and take off for Honduras for the a year. :(

You know that Triumph will replace it under "goodwill", correct? Although at this point, the one TJ sells might be a better unit. I'm still having a charging issue, even with the new R/R.
Yeah I know that some dealerships will honor it. Problem is that I'd have to borrow a truck, drive it to the dealer, wait for the part to come in, wait for the install...and that's if they decide to warranty it. Could be a couple weeks or longer before I'll have my bike back.

And, to be honest, I don't trust anyone other than me to work on my bike.

Ha ha! Glad I'm not the only one who feels this way. I ordered a bunch of accessories when I bought my bike and the dealer charged me $75 in labor to install them all. The only ones they've actually put on so far are the quickshifter and the rear lift spools, and the only reason they put those on was because they actually happened to have those in stock when they set the bike up. All the other parts I put on myself as they trickle in. I've got 1900 miles on the bike so far and haven't been back to the dealership other than to pick up my accessories. All maintenenence, other than valve work (and maybe even that), will be done by me (with some help from you guys).

The difference is not substantial. If it weren't for the +2 in the rear, I doubt I'd notice anything at all. However, it is theorized that the weight reduction from the 520 chain along with the aluminum sprocket in the rear will make a difference. Whether or not it would be noticeable to somebody who is not pushing the limits of the bike on the track to shed time, I'm not so sure..

Having said that, the +2 in the rear does seem to make a minor difference.

It seems to have a little more low end grunt.

I do feel like the gearing is a bit shorter, so I have to shift sooner.

The speedometer is definitely off now...at least in comparison to what the GPS says. Somewhere around 10%. I was under the impression the +2 rear produced an error of ~6%. Going with a -1 front AND +2 rear was supposed to be around 10%. Perhaps these figures did not take into account the amount the speedometer is off from the factory.

Enough about performance. My favorite thing about it? Bling Bling!
