I know there was a thread about this awhile back and I've tried to find it with no luck. Anyone know the link to it? From what I remember it's pretty straight forward just remove it and jumper a couple of the wires. The question is what wires and why?

PM MadMel. He and I had a discussion regarding it via PMs and how to properly do it. If I happen to have the PM discussion I will cut and paste it for you. EDIT: no longer have the PMs

I think umicheng knows how to do it also. If not I know some of the east coast track whores on here have done it.

Wait, what?

I haven't done this yet but will over the winter. You have to jumper wires and you can't just disconnect the switch? That's lame.

Correct. If you don't the bike will start. What I did was I had a messed left control switch that I stripped of its broken housing wrapped the bundle in tape and left it connected and had it just on the side of the bike.

The jumper method shown by the thread above cleans it up nicely.

It's quite easy. Two screws under the housing, and a small button under the clutch safety switch. Push the button with a small screwdriver while gently pulling on the switch.

Now unplug the housing from the harness and you have to jump the safety switch. With a small solid wire strip the ends and plug it into the black wire and the black/orange wire. Tape the whole thing up very well so the wire will not fall out. Test the bike starts, and you are done.

If it won't start make sure the kick stand is up, and your connection is solid, and try again. Now you will always have to make sure the clutch is pulled in, or she will run off on you during your start.

I have been running this mod for a month with no issues at all. I went over the WD with a fine tooth comb and this is the only jump needed. Either way, take it or leave it.

I'll take it, thanks for posting it!

I removed all the pins from the connectors EXCEPT the ones for the clutch switch. This way I don't have the lighting switch, but the clutch switch still works as designed. I know the clutch switch does more than just allowing it to start....YMMV
