Er no, sorry. It was a while ago now.

Basically you have to cut the wires to the fuse box and the relays that are mounted on the left fairing, under the infill panel. Then extend them back to the airbox lid. I just put a piece of tape with the same number on, on either side of the wire where I cut it so I knew which wires to connect to which. Just make sure you don't end up using the same number on two different wires like I did!

As long as you are methodical and take your time you should be OK. I'd never done this before and I managed it.

Good luck and make sure you post up your build for us to follow.

Well the final of the MCN/Carole Nash Built in Britain came and went on Saturday 16 February 2013. Unfortunately I didn't make one of the final three with my Daytona Street. It was won by the drag bike GSX-R, which annoyingly I thought might win. However I did award myself a "booby prize" as you can see below. :sifone:

The bike which should have won was Shaun's Barbarian as he fabricated the whole bike in his garage, with the exception of the engine and forks, but he's going to make his own forks.

I'm not kidding he made the entire bike himself: wheels, frame, swing arm, etc. Even made his own master cylinders. Awesome piece of engineering and I like the looks too. Read his build here if that kind of thing interests you: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/shaun.wainford/Progress2.html

So it just leaves me to say a big thank you to everyone who took the time to vote for me. I really appreciate it and I wouldn't have got to the final without you.

Street Triple Yokes fitted to Daytona

I have read your posts multiple times and feel I learn something new each time. Awesome build. I and trying to fit the Street Triple yokes on my Daytona and feel they do not want to slide down the forks? Did you have to dismount the forks from the front axle? I understand the rake is different but I thought they would just slide down and fit? Do you have any suggestions? Oh and by the way I was able to get my wiring harness all figured out. Thanks.

You have to use both the upper an lower yoke froma street striple, otherwise it will not work

Take large flathead screwdriver and GENTLY pry the yoke apart where the split is, then the fork will easily slide into the yoke without marring the fork.

Do one fork at a time, so yes remove the axle.

Sorry for the late reply, I've been at Motorland Circuit in Aragon, Spain for three days of track action. Epic! Just got back.

Glad my build notes have helped you out. As DecepticonDon points out, you need both upper and lower yokes for the forks to fit. I find it best to turn the forks as you insert them, this seems to help ease them in.

Thanks Ruby. I have both yokes but tried installing them without taking my front tire off. I just bought that tool and will get it all installed this weekend. Motorland Circuit sounds awesome. I bet it was a blast to say the least. Thanks for the advice. I will post more once I have the yokes on.

Cheers

Hi Guys an' Gals.

Started another project bike. However it isn't a Triumph so I won't be posting it here, but thought some of you might like to follow it. Here's a link to the build story and if you want to receive updates then send me an email as per the instructions at the bottom of the page: http://www.rubyracing.com/RubyRacer-1.html

Wow. This may take more than just a night to read. Great work and thanks for the good reads.

EDIT: haha ok i got to page 3 and then nothing. Still excited for the other 30 pages.

I'm sure it's in the text somewhere but I can't find it... Can you/someone tell me what the fairing is off, (Aprillia?) I love it and want one for my 2013 Street Triple R - along with Daytona cams and seat/tail unit... :)

Amazing job by the way - a keeper for sure!
