I was wandering if there is any performance benefit to be had by gutting out the CAT, or if the bike gets any louder? In addition, will any retuning have to be done if I do this? I'm NOT getting rid of the exup too, just to clear that up.

Why not just cut that and the good ole' exup out at the same time? Not worth it if you don't plan on changing anything in your tune though. It won't run right unless you do a little fine tuning wither tuneboy or tuneecu. Yes, it will be a little louder, rev a little quicker.

I swear that wasn't originally there. Can't comment on gutting just the cat. I'm sure it would have some of the same effects as getting rid of all of it, just not as drastic. And still the potential for the P1080..

Well, I looked at your thread and very good ideas and fab but its not my style. I like the undertail pipe WAY too much. Not sure if you would know this but is the HordPower a simple "bolt-on" or does it require cutting like you performed?

You can use the Cone Engineering one for any style exhaust, I just chose to make a low mount. A few people on here have done undertails with that same collector. Hord's requires cutting as well. They are basically the same thing but Hord's is about 175 dollars more expensive and comes welded together, but it still needs to be welded on to your stock header. Cone also sells the stuff to make a turbo star for the inside of the collector and the tool to hold everything in place when its assembled. Don't think the Hord one comes with either. Here is a pic of what I am talking about, its the sharp point inside the collector:
