baby got some PR2s. nice to not have to worry about lowsiding to my death on a bald front anymore... :cool2: especially in the rain!

not sure i'm gonna dig the turn in though, it's slow(er) and will probably take alot of counter steer to throw this thing through the bendys. but hell, the last tire i had on the rear never saw the canyon so...

From my experience the PR2's are great tires(burned through two sets on my BMW K1200S), but they took the longest of any tire I've ever used to "break in" before I felt comfortable on them. I've read other reports that also said the tires didn't give them much confidence until they had 400-500 miles on them.

 

I was going to get the PR2 but instead I got battlax 23 for the rear. It took a bit to break them in. At extreme lean angles they dont feel very planted so I have been careful.

 

I rode 150 miles to my trusted mechanic and good friend's home and we put street triple r front end (forks and such) on my standard. With gold calipers, Daytona master cylinder, speed triple fat bars, new tiers. The works!

Then rode 150 miles back home. Wow exceptionally better than the standard i can say this because i rode the bike back to back equal good distance.

All in all great day!

Excellent excellent excellent. Yeah, I feel like I'm missing out with the tuneable front suspension and all. Radial brakes are probably pretty badass too.

 

Yeah the breaks are amazing. But they would be straight up scary if it didn't have the better forks to compliment the breaks. The combination though even with all that extra stopping power feels like you have a lot more control of the bike then the standard setup.

Anyway if you have not done so yet on your standard street triple swap the rear shock for a daytona one at the very least. You can snag them pretty cheap used. That mod is a 100% must for any standard street triple considering the affordability and simplicity. The stock shock is straight up junk in comparison.

By the way I got the rear stock fender kit! Thanks again that was great. Havent put it on yet since i dont need it. But come a day i need to take out the rear blinkers ill need it (threads in my rear fender for the rear blinkers are cross threaded to hell and back).

Excellent, glad to hear it made it to you.

And the rear shock swap was one of the first things I did to my bike haha. The heavier spring rate and more adjustability is very much needed for my body mass (lol). Gave the bike a little bit more aggressive stance as well. Then of course I had to swap out for heavier fork springs as well which would be about right if someone were to buy my bike off me and use it for aggressive riding.

 

Installed a Rizoma rear brake reservoir. Will do the front brake this winter.

Rode the bike a decent distance today...had some delicious pho...met up with some friends...going to have a nice day trip tomorrow and meeting up with a couple friends. What a nice weekend.

 

What is that rear huger you have above your rear wheel? What model bike is it for? I want one to protect the rear shock. (Not really a fan of fenders for naked bike but also want to make sure rocks dont destroy my shock).

 

I just put pilot road 3s on mine 2 days ago... about 400 miles into them (well front i did today so only 150 in those) so my rear tier is ready yay!

 

Took her for a ride, 200km of fun,left the bike at http://www.tovami.com/ for a week.
I'll pick her up agaim next week, with a skimmed head,kit headgasket, Daytona cams,and ofcourse a new tune. I can't wait!

 

I found out the the R&G Aero Frame Sliders are improperly designed and damaged my throttle bodies when they were installed. I've contacted Twisted Throttle and R&G to see how they'll make it right.

Having installed and used their products on my own and customers bikes for years I would like some detail. Damage done during a fumbled installation hardly translates to an improperly designed product or any fault of the manufacturer or liability to the retailer.

Joining a forum just to name names is no way to motivate a retailer and really bad form ........... :thumbdown:

Frame sliders should be no where near throttle bodies.... I'm betting there is more to this story. Either you got the wrong parts, or some one done screwed up an instal.

While you have got it like this I'd clean that radiator and get a scotchbrite pad and some WD40 on those head pipes.

 

What is this word "clean" that you use? I am not familiar with it.

New plugs,denso iridiums, and air filter at 12k miles.Test ride for check.Fuel connector seemed wimpy. Lock nuts at the throttle cables were loose. Bolt top of the air box near the tree was realy tight.Probably corroded aluminum. Thats going to be a problem. Otherwise ran good. Rear tire is wore out. Thats next.

 

I was polishing my friends headlights with my high speed and didnt realize but i flung polish all over my freakin bike ... nooooooooooooooooooo

Shit wont come off the seat now and there are tiny spots all over the dam thing... F'in A!

That picture could represent a single day-trip outside of Melbourne, Australia. Unlike North America with it's paved primary, secondary and rural roads, Australia's roads can vary from pavement to non paved roads going to your destination and they would still be considered primary/ main roads. Dust kicked up by vehicles and add a little moisture to the picture and voila a very dirty bike in probably less that a day. As for the headers, Triumph leads the way in using the materials it does that lead to oxidization and rust.

 

You yank(ee)s. don't be pansies too. I spent the 1st five years of biking on enduros. You're missing a lot of fun. You HAVE seen the dude on the ADV modified Triple right?

 

I have no problem with dirty adv bikes, that's how they should be. That said I'm not trying to have my street bike looking like that. Just my opinion.
