Install took about ten or fifteen minutes - very easy. I'll post a couple of pics when I get the chance.

 

Went for a ride yesterday and after stopping to get gas I caught up to a line of traffic on the highway. So I did what I always do: start passing them on clear straight stretches. Unbeknownst to me, an unmarked trooper was behind me and following far enough behind that I never saw him in my mirrors. He waited until we reached a part of the road where the speed limit dropped from 65 to 55mph to pull me over. Says he clocked me hitting 106 when I passed a semi.

The good news was, he didn't arrest me and impound my bike. I've learned my lesson. I guess I'll pass slower and spend more time in the oncoming traffic lane from now on. My philosophy has always been to get around a vehicle as expeditiously as possible to reduce the amount of time I have to spend in the oncoming lane. I'll have to change that behavior from here on out.

When I first looked at the calipers on the ST3 i was like "dafaq are these, some sort of 'upside down calipers' ?" :crazy:

is there any benefit to having them this way?

Installed a Daytona rear shock. Time for a test ride.

 

Made a big difference for me since the stock was undersprung for my...body mass lol. Also...made the rear of the bike a little bit higher because of the stiffer spring etc

 

Suspension is a bit better but not massively so. Can't bitch about a $39 upgrade. Next time though, I'm either getting an assistant or springing for a proper lift. I used 3 cambuckle tie downs overhead and the jack from my Nissan pickup to it get elevated and stable. I also Kryloned the Kenny Roberts yellow spring a nice flat black.

 

I found a beam overhead in my garage and used a ratchet strap to lift the tail in the air, so you're not alone!

Had a great ride to work today. A 60 mile round trip.

 

Put a Shorai lithium battery in the striple. Saved 4.63lbs or 2.1kg for you metric folk.

Racing?

 

Last night I got to experience the ABS system!

Going onto a nice full circle free way on-ramp behind a guy on a small cruiser. We were blasting around the circle no cars in our way, and right at the end, he JAMS on the brakes and skids through my lane, -- he saw the "queue/freeway metering" light was red.

I get a handful of front brake and rear brake (Oh, key point. I'm wearing my NEW dianese street boots for the -first-time and I can't feel the pedal very well) So I end up pushing a lot of rear, and I immediately feel the vib's from the ABS, I stop right along side him, stare at him, and peel off. Bro, you do NOT PANIC stop at those queue red lights if you're on a bike! it's not a damn intersection!

 

Great ride to work today. I've been on the phone talking to my AT&T Service again. How frustrating. Threatening to go to Time Warner and suddenly my Internet is working. I think they are trying to control how much time I'm spending on the internet.

 

Maybe the NSA is slowing it down while looking on your computer of all the websites you visit. :smilielol5:

 

You might be right. I do communicate with a lot of conspicuous characters.:laugh: I had to do some illegal lane splitting today on the Striple. Because of a wreck that snarled traffic for about 2 miles I either had to sit in the baking sun or brake the law. I wish that lane splitting was legal. Here that NSA.

 

Rode it. 230 miles today. Epic ride was epic.

I been getting extreme numbness in my hands lately riding. I dont know if it is carpel tunnel syndrome or what but I never had this before. I never ride with pressure on my wrists and always grab the tank and use my stomach muscles. Anyone else ever get this? Maybe its from using the PC all day for work and I need to change my habits with working like that first.

 

Could be the PC issue, but I found my hands getting numb and found that in very warm weather my hands would swell up and make my gloves too tight, cutting off some of the circulation. Switched warm weather gloves and numbness gone!

 

Rimtape and also fixed a problem with the givi tank bag. Rotated mounting bracket 180 degrees so that the narrower end faces the front of the bike. How it should have been mounted when givi made it up. Anyway, i think its a much better look then how it was before.

Few updates over the span of a few months. Installed a new spring rate at 600# from Eibach on the Street R damper.

Installed Rizoma Zero-11 and Rizoma Action lights in the rear. The Zero-11 are nice in that they can be seen 180 degrees.

Last night I discovered that my torque wrench doesn't go down to 8 n/M when I sheared off a bolt fitting my new R&G engine case covers. Thankfully Home Depot had a screw remover, and replacement bolts. Took me 2 hours to do 12 bolts. Grrr.
In positive news the covers are now on and I like the look.

 

Had the best trip of the year today. Took Den Gyldne Omvei (the Golden detour) Nice weather and no traffic! Wasn't a car around... Awesome!

It's a street fighter style, it's supposed to look bare. I do wish I had a luggage rack though so I could throw some cheap bags over the tail and travel.

 

My Streety got a new toy. The USB port/ charge cable.
