Fitted heated grips last night. Just need to wire in the relay.

Al.

WAS and AM still nervous about this, but i sprayed my GB clutch and alternator cover today with high temp paint. One of them was super light gray-ish plastic and didn't gel with the engine so much. So I took a chance. I'll be throw'n these on this weekend. Hopefully they'll match a bit better. *fingers crossed* If not, well....i'll sort something out.

If they do, i'll do the stator cover as well.

Gave the Street a full detail, washed and polished/waxed all fairings, headlights, mufflers, washed and detailed wheels and tires, replaced front globes with whiter and brighter ones and put in green parker bulbs.

Then just for the hell of it I gave the helmet the full treatment as well

bike and helmet look better then when I took it off the show room floor

Do mine meow

Wait... they don't match the engine?!?
Not really actually. The stator cover matches just fine like most peoples but for whatever reason the alternator side was a lot lighter in color. Stood out to me a lot. Was almost gray. Figured if I did one side I had to
do the other.

It did not look like orangemans pic as I expected it would. =\. That looks to be black satin-ish to me

Mounted my RAM mount system for my garmin and hard wired it into my power distro block:

Ordered pieces from GPScity

Proped tank up to run the wire under it.

Wiring to the distro block - did this with my heated grips install

GPSCity Part numbers:

RAM Mount Diamond Plate with 1 inch Ball RAM-B-238U - ball to mount on GPS mount

RAM Mount Garmin nuvi 1490T Cradle RAM-HOL-GA35U - or whatever mounts to your GPS

RAM Mount Short Arm B-Socket RAM-B-201U-A - arm to mount on ball

RAM Mount Motorcycle Fork Stem Base with 1 inch Ball - goes in fork stem

^ I ditched the rubber expansion plug that comes with the stem mount and got a 12" section of all-thread and put a cap nut on top with a lock nut on the bottom. Also have a nylon spacer sleeve that fits over the threaded rod and goes up into the tube, just to keep it centered. This way the whole assembly tightens down snug and can't be rotated.

most interesting I may bug you about materials and setup if I dont like this but so far it works really well. Went to a park today using the GPS and it worked perfect.

I take some motor oil and rub it into the GB covers every so often to keep them from turning gray and going brittle. Works great and gives them a nice sheen.

Today I pulled the stator cover to take a look. The new RR I got this week didn't solve the charging issue. At least I don't have to think about my old style RR leaving me stranded.

Found this. Nice and melty. Sucks that I have to replace it, but happy that I found the problem.
