ShaneXman and OfCounsel are having their first race with WSMC on Sunday.
... they'll be racing in the last race of the day .... against the 1000cc bikes !

I'm going to go check it out (along with a "mini" Crest Ride).

Anybody wants to tag along ?

... I'll probably be at the bottom of the Crest at 10am on Sunday
(at Willow Springs by noon - there's a $10 entry fee at the gate)

Good luck and let us know how you do?
Hope the weather is better than over here, its been raining almost every day since last Sunday. We had more rain in the last few days than we should of had for the whole of Jan and half of Feb. And Im in the south where we not supposed to have rain like this.
Make me jealous and let me know what the weather is like there.
I dont think i will be on the road until at least March and thats only if the weather is good again.

WOW!!! WHAT A RUSH TO THE HEAD! Shane and I had a blast!

We were the first race of the day on a very cold track. Shane was gridded 11 and I was gridded 18th out of 21 racers. Shane took off early, moving to 3rd place, giving all those liter bikes a run for their money. Shane was moving until he missed a shift, then compounded that with a mental fart on his part. He thought he had gotten black flagged, but it was really a crossed flag signal letting us know the race was half done. Shane slowed dramatically for a bit, and that allowed a guy to get passed him, taking his sure podium finish away. Shane still ended up in 4th place however,:notworthy: which is even more impressive given that we were going against the liter bikes. He was the fastest of all the guys in the new racer's school and will definitely be the rookie to watch this year!!!

I started well off the line, passing several guys and moving from 18th to about 5th or 6th position heading into the first turn... Unfortunately my pace was not enough to keep the gains I made off the line.

I spent most of the race trying to figure out what the heck I was doing:rofl::rofl: I had so much adrenaline going that it was missing shift points and taking weird lines. My pace was several seconds off my normal track day pace. I had to keep telling myself to focus looking past the corner and to breath! Still.... What a rush!!!!

I ended up in 15th place, which is not impressive, but I had so much fun... I got off the bike so happy and excited that I was not in last place! I had the time of my life:cool2:

I want to give a big huge thanks to Lloyd for really helping us out during our first weekend racing. His words of wisdom and encouragement really helped out, especially in the starts for both Shane and I. And it was really cool to see Lloyd get his championship awards last night as well. So props to Lloyd!!

Also, Ole (Faster 675) kicks ass for coming out on his motorcycle to hang with us so early on such a cold morning (it was 24 degrees this morning!) Also thanks to Aaron (Toso) for hanging with us at the track as well!

I can't wait to do it all over again next month:sifone::rofl2:

Pictures are finally up on CaliPhotography.com, and I saw this picture from our race...

Does this not look like the flag guy is pointing the black flag in the riders general direction? Why couldn't he use the checkered flag and the white flag...or the green flag and white flag? COME ON NOW!!!

+1 to everything Al said.

...however, Al isn't giving himself enough credit. With regards to starts, Al is pretty much like Ben Spies...and I am the Mat Mladin of the group. You should have seen it, this guy jumped from 18th on the grid to 5th place overall. :threecheers: Secondly, I have to disagree when Al says his 15th place was "not impressive", because this was in fact our first race, on a track he despises, with winds a blazin'...and he still managed to pick up 3 spots from his starting position. Good on you bud! :cool2:

Also, I too would like to thank Lloyd, Ole, and Aaron for coming out and supporting us at our first race! You guys are awesome. :notworthy:

Until next month... :tow:

Good going guys, congrats  Looks like a really good start to your seasons and now with some of the rookie mental mishaps behind ya, it will be an even better showing next time, heck, I'm gonna even expect not one but two podium finishes. 675 BABY! FTL(itre bikes) :whipped: :headbang:

I have a track day at Jennings coming up next weekend and I
'm gonna watch the weather as it could be freezing up there.

Here are some pics I took of our two newest racers from today. It was great to see Shane and Al do very well for their first race. Both now have the adrenaline rush from racing and will go on to get faster. Great job to both of you! And now without further ado...
