Small Square Area Under the Rider's Seat - What's it for?

OK, so looking over the bike in an attempt to find a place to mount my StarCom1 system I came across the little square opening under the rider's seat that contains nothing... Is there some type of accessory tool kit that fits in this space that didn't come stock with the bike? An allen wrench and a reversable screw driver is hardly what I would call a tool kit.

Before I decide on this as the location for the StarCom1, I'd like to know if there is something else that is intended for that space...

Hehe! Was adding extra heat shield to the top of the exhaust the other day and my wife asked how the passenger seat removed. So I showed her the alan bolt and she asks, "So why did they put a screwdriver in there if you need another tool to get to it?" I didn't have an answer so pulled it out and tossed it in the toolbox!
