Hi there, I've been thinking long and hard about getting a '13 675R this summer but I'm a bit of a shorter rider, I'm about 5'6 with a 30 inseam... I'm coming from a 2006 Honda CBR600 F4i which is fairly low and I'm wondering if I'll have a problem with the new Daytona? It hasn't been released yet so I can't go into a dealer to sit on one

But my question is, should the whole bike be thinner because it's 3 cylinders? (instead of an inline 4) A thinner bike should make it easier for shorter riders like myself...

Anywho, any advice would be appreciated, thanks!

5'9" with a 29" inseam. I can flat foot 1 foot and walk it on the balls of both feet if I need to. So you'd be fine.

I think a 27" and less inseam would struggle a bit though.

we can give you internet opinions all day long....... get down to your dealer and sit on the new model when it arrives. They usually have test rides too. The current model daytona is very very tall. Being triple, it is thinner but i dont see how that would help/hurt you. it is more of the height that will be an issue for you. At 5'6", i think it will be a struggle for you.

You will definitely be on one foot or the other - maybe toes/forefoot on both. But that's perfectly fine, a lot of professional riders are your size or smaller! Just get your pit crew to hold the bike for you every time you get on or off :biggrinjester:

When he was really young, Nicky Hayden racing in CMRA had to start from the back of the grid because someone from his pit crew or family (same thing?) had to hold the bike up for him because he couldn't reach the ground lol

30 inch inseam and I'm a girl and it is fine...how's that for proof hee hee!? :curtsey:

also realize that when you go sit on a bike in the showroom the oem spring might be too stiff and won't have the preload properly set for your weight. this means you won't be getting the appropriate sag when you sit on the bike and that can make a world of difference as far as your reach to the ground.

the narrower profile of the 675 vs an inline 4 does make a big difference as far as reach to the ground...you can also get a low seat i believe for it which can help too.

I'm 5'6" with a 29.5" inseam and on my 06 D675 I can flat foot one side with just a very small butt shift which is fine or I can have the balls of my feet both down and can move the bike.

I was really worried about the height before I got it but its really not a problem. You can shave the seat and get another .5-1" which I did and that helped too.

The new model is meant to be lower in the seat height so you will be fine. But like others have said go sit on it and decide.

I don't know what all the worry is about seat height? When I was a kid I rode a CR125 dirtbike and I could barely get one foot down with the other leg thrown over the seat. I had a special box at the house I used to stand on to kick start it.

I'm 5'7" and height of the bike is not an issue. Never thought twice about it. Get yourself some riding boots with a nice thick sole, and forget you ever thought it might be a problem. It won't be.

5'6", 30 inch inseam here. You'll be fine. I couldn't quite flatfoot my '06 Daytona but I never had a problem with it. I can flatfoot my Street Triple no problem but it's a little shorted.

The narrower seat makes a big difference, not sure why some are saying otherwise. The less bow-legged you are on the seat the more vertical length your legs have.

Tall riders 6, who ride the Daytona 675, imo looks funny, the bike is not that big at all and looks kinda small and thin in the mid section since its a triple and not a 4, a person 5,5 - 5,9 would fit this bike ok. But if you really like this bike than it does not matter, go for what you like, and not what people think.

I test rode a 2013 Daytona (standard) on Sunday and it felt less aggressive and lower than my 09' Daytona. Very comfortable and easy to ride. It was great!

As others have said though, get to your local dealer and test ride.

The 2013 Daytona 675 seat height are much lower than the previous models, 2013 models D675 are 820mm, compared to the previous models 830mm.

I saw the new 2013 Daytona 675 a few weeks ago in the flesh, even tho I saw a lot of pictures of it, when i finally saw it in person, I was not excited at all.. kind of a let down, doesn't look aggressive at all, and the beauty has gone, doesn't look unique anymore, the older models do, glade I brought the last generation daytonas until the new ones came out.

new to this site and to triumphs. and to super sports.

falling in love with a 2008 standard daytona 675. i'm 5'7" female with 29-30" inseam. i can touch on both sides on the balls of my feet. if i had an extra inch on my heel i'd be flat footing. been told that its better to cut the seat down or use lifts rather than alter the bike. didn't seem like there was anything to cut off the seat.. anyone tried a heel lift in their boots? my boots have plenty of room inside

sazbatz...you can shave the seat. Might be all you need. I have an 08 and I'm a 5'4" gal with similar inseam and it is fine. My bike is all track and I did it to feel more like I am sitting in the cockpit rather than on top. The reach to the ground is an added bonus and you don't have to mess with the geometry or suspension linkage

Here's what it looks like:
