I have a similar product Tankslapper on my tank and fairing chin. These clear 3M sheets take some time and a little patience to apply but once on the bike they are virtually invisible, very durable and the best way to protect the paint from chips and scuffing.

You just need lots of water/soap spray to work all the creases and bubbles out . Great stuff.

Tankslapper has a web site and the price for the basic kit is less than $20.

I have the tankslapper on my bike, heres a pic. To get a good fit , like Dale said, lots of water/alcohol/soap mixture and I used a hairdryer to help get her pasted down.

Only problem I can't keep the top part of the back of the tank( up near the gas fill rim) to stay put....I think it's the way I lean on the tank... I may replace that piece with a magknight piece.

It's on there, you just can't see it!

I have that exact kit on my bike as well as the Tank Slapper kit for the tank. Good product but a paint o install. I took my bike the guy who has tinted all my cars and it even took him a couple of hours. $50 bucks to install so def. worth it. He said that he would have wraped the entire front of the bike with one piece of 3M like he does on cars, so there would be no lines where the cutouts end on the fairings.

I have the Tankslapper too and I had a similar problem to you, Sunny. I ended up cutting notches in the center piece to look exactly like a carbon fiber protector so it adhered easier. After almost 1000 miles it's still working great!

Thanks for the info, keep wondering how the invisigard will look as its 8mm thick.
I know we have this whole metric verses english measurement controversy going on, but allow me to clarify this one. "mils" are not "millimeters" despite the common mis-use of the shortened slang term mills to describe a millimeter. "mils" is actually the technical term for one thousandths of an inch. Therefore 8 mils is about a quarter millimeter. If the stuff really was 8mm thick, it would be about 3/8 of an inch thick. No amount of water, soap and squeegy would get that thing to conform to the tank.....

I have the invisgaurd kit, I like it. It covers all the areas that will be getting hit by bug and rocks, plus the back and sides of the tank. i put it on myself, first time for anything like that, and I didn't think it was that bad. It takes a little to get used to, but after that its cake.

 Thanks for the metric lesson!! Bring back feet and inches I say!!! :D
Yes, let's bring back the feet and inches because that system makes soo much more sense and is sooo easy to work with. Let's devise a system of numbers based on the random length of an average man's foot and the force exerted by a certain breed of domesticated animal. Thank God we chose the Horse and not the Mule. How would we feel bragging about our bikes incredible Donkeypower. Imagine comparing different bikes in terms of the number of jackasses they have!??!? We might as well have based the speed of an airplane based off the flight velocity of a DooDoo bird.

Yes, all praise the brilliantly inspired English method of Measure. It was good in it's day, but there is something to be said for an entire system of measurement that is based on the number of fingers, not the size of the digits.
