Initially thought uhh, one of those decisions you make and then later you regret it, however after looking at the suit it looked very sexy on the lady that was modelling it. Cant beat Italian style.
So if you are anything like her then you should be ok.
Ofcourse the other problem is keeping it clean, especially in the summer, but then again you come from Newcastle and therefore too cold for flys in summer?

I looked at some pictures of the Dainese Dominia gear, the jackets and the one piece, which did you purchase? I assume you are speaking of the one piece?

First of all, you purchased gear that is durably constructed, has a tried and true reputation and, most importantly, will protect you; protection, above all, should be the first consideration.
Never sacrifice personal safety for fashion. Looking "hot" on a bike should never be a consideration. Safety, above all.

Additionally, I have seen your pictures elsewhere on this forum and I can safely say that I am sure you will not look like an egg.

Though they were definitely not my first choices, I ended up purchasing the Spidi Lady Lizard Pro one-piece suit and the Rev'IT Ladies Silica jacket, both of which are predominantly white. I never liked white gear but I admit that these two items, of all the gear I have owned (and believe me, I have a lot of gear), have become my favorites.
I will suggest, however, that you get some good leather cleaner, conditioner and some white leather polish to keep your gear looking bright.

DoubleApexx, you have given me new found white leather confidence as you look neither like an egg or a poser in your pictures! I love the look of the Spidi gear, but unfortunately there aren't any dealers stocking womens Spidi around here so i'm stuck with either Dainese or Alpinestars (not a bad two to chose from I suppose) but neither fit me particularly well, they seem to be cut for the shorter people so I end up with leathers that seem to be a bit big. Too big black is probably more flattering than too big white so perhaps i am being vain?!?!

Thanks for the advice re white polish, though as Bart said, its usually too cold for flies in the North East of the UK - unfortunately!

Ok.....so my local Dainese pro shop ordered me in some new Dainese Dominia leathers. For some reason womens leathers are still cut like they're for men?? Therefore the all black looked a bit butch (especially as i'm too tall for my size so have to get a size too big), so I opted for the white.

Now i'm home I feel like one of those starship troopers from star wars! Is it ever okay to wear white leathers?? Think i've been put off as I saw a rather overweight guy in an all in one white race replica suit and he looked like an egg.

I should point out that I am neither male, or overweight so hopefully the 'egg' comparison should not apply, but I don't want to look like a poser!! Plus my Sidi's now won't fit :thumbdown:

also, on track days and during warm weather it would help keep you cooler than the other colors

only gripe i'd have for myself is that i'm so picky about my stuff being clean, that black tends to work better for me (but i cook on hot days).

The Yu suit is practically the same design but was more comfy as it hasn't got the titanium shoulders and the hump (don't think it had a hump?!), so it actually looks a bit of a better fit as its not so bulky, but just a bit too girly for me personally. If it didn't have all of the swirly stuff on i'd probably have gone for it though. Still, a really nice suit sure your wife would be over the moon with it.

The female riders that I have seen in white have usually been hot! I don't know if it's the white leathers, or if they were in fact hot, or if it was just because it's a woman riding a sportbike! So that having been said.....the combination of a woman in white on a sportbike can be nothing short of sexy!

 

JJ - just had a look at your link and can't believe the price of Dainese in the US (or perhaps its just the weak £?) $1,499, thats a nice treat for your wife!! It retails at approx £800 over here, but you can ususlly get a decent discount so perhaps you could order from a UK shop that ships internationally. My suit retails at £700, but my friendly local Dainese store knocked off quite a bit and I paid £550. Think that works out at about $850 at the minute, so might be something to think about??

Stephanie, at the very beginning, it is all pretty and it's all white, but short after it will turn out gray if you ride in traffic or if hit the asphalt, it will turn out black.
Why don't you go for a black leather suit with other optional colors? I used to work for a reputed leather suit manufacturer, and I have always recommend racer to not choose white as a primary color, especially around the legs, forearms and shoulders. However, white is OK for small panels or applications like stripes and so on. There are several ways to clean an all-white leather suit but it takes several hours to do so and it is quite of a task if you ask me...that's my two cents.

 

Chicks in white leathers are soooo hot! Unfortunately, white doesn't stay looking new very long. The amount of crap in the air is alarming and it somehow manages to find every pore and crack in leather; same with white boots.
