I installed the rest of my frame sliders from motovation. Got the front, rear and engine ones done... and did the rim tape yesterday :)

Bought a used pitbull rear stand off a friend who sold his bike. I practiced lining up the spools and putting the bike on the stand myself and back on to the kickstand again. Also, cleaned/lubed the chain. MUCHHHH easier than my old process: Clean/lube visible/reachable parts of the chain, roll bike forward a little bit, repeat over and over.

Been meaning to post this since the weekend, but I installed a bunch of parts with the help of another forum member (cush1227, thanks bro). Heat-wrapped and fitted the Arrow 3-1 lowboy, Ballistic battery, LSL sliders, Attack rearsets, BMC Filter, SAI blockoff/delete, tuned with TuneECU and gave her a good washing. Mirrors, axle sliders, and body panels should be here this weekend and they'll get put on quickly too. Now the pics.

All of this involved a bit of patience and a little cursing too, but was definitely fun and made the bike more fun too.

What's the positioning of the rearsets like compared to the standard setup?

In the lowest, furthest-to-the-rear setting, they are still a little higher than the stock rearsets. They also feel more grippy on the feet.

full clean, and polish, chain stripped and re-lubed. this was down the old school way of rolling the bike until i could see a new part of the chain and then spraying it up. It has made me decide to order a paddok stand!

then went for a bit of a ride around the south, about 120miles all in. A32 - A3 - A272. just outside of Billingsworth pulled in to BP to get some fuel and there were 2 brand new McLaren mp4-12's parked up. filled her up and grabbed a drink had to rush a little but managed to get behind them and was then flanked by another 2 still with some cellophane on!! had a bit of a play then turned around to go home.

checked tire pressure. checked oil. checked coolant.

Because I agree with this.

You can pay for school, but you can't buy class.

Got my spencer modified seat back and plan on riding her tomorrow. Gonna lube the chain today.

I paid $75 plus shipping both ways and he turned it around in about 1 week.

Visually, the seat looks like factory stock, but I can feel that the foam is shaped differently. Flatter in the back and taller in the front.

My sitting bones would start hurting after about 1 hour.

For $75 I'm not expecting a night and day revelation in comfort but a noticeable improvement

My dealer hasn't mentioned any thing about any recall. I was just there yesterday and nothing. Isn't Triumph obligated to notify its customers of any recall or does this just apply to safety or EPA issues. I have since replaced mine with a mosfet unit. Would it be a good idea to reinstall the old one and take it in to get another one? Would that be considered moral? I can't see that it would make a difference since it is still a factory unit that was purchased with the bike that has been recalled. Any thoughts?

I believe it is - got wind of it being a proper recall from a UK forum. It was as simple as giving Triumph North America a call:

Customer Service: (678) 854-2010 (How is it Triumph NA doesn't have a toll free customer service line as well? Talk about being cheap)

Got a receptionist of sorts, quickly explained I was looking for some recall info and she forwarded me right away to someone that could look it up. Simply told them I was looking for recall info and they asked for the last 6 digits of my VIN and confirmed my bike is included in the recall.

Once phoning Triumph North America it took all of a couple minutes to get confirmation, very simple process but still not something we should have to do...the dealers should be aware about it. Piss poor communication on behalf of (at least) Triumph North America.
