had a first time problem today. was running into work this morning and came up on another rider that i've ridden with a few times.

we switched into "blast mode" and when i tried up-shifting to 6th @ about 115mph/10.5k rpms, it simply would not shift. i tried a few times. i dropped some R's and clicked 4th/5th/6th and was normal the rest of the ride.

i'm going to look at the shift linkage this weekend and see if everything looks normal.

would a shift spindle support help? is this an indicator of pending future trouble? bike has 19k, always maintained and no other issues, rode daily.
Were you able to get it into 6th gear at all? It may have be a syncro issue.

yeah, after clicking down into 4th then back up to 6th everything was normal. i've just never had it hang up going into gear before. it's well maintained and ridden hard regularly.

i didn't find any issue with the linkage, nothing loose or binding. maybe just a fluke.

Well I triiiiiied to make my own little custom flyscreen using my already-installed bracket for my Dart windscreen. Failed...twice. Gonna try again with a cardboard model first, then take measurements, then bend/cut the plexiglass...I'm not doing such a great job with this thing haha.

Following pictures are from my closest to being finished attempt. But then....CRACCKK. :yell:

Scottyyy, I have a black flyscreen that I took off my 08 Street, PM me, if u'd like it maybe we can work something out.
Thank you for the offer, but I used to have that flyscreen when I first purchased my bike. Ended up selling it because I didn't like the way it looked. One of the peg things within my instrument cluster backing was snapped off by the previous owner, so those don't work too well mounting on my bike anyway unless I drill a small hole through the screen's panel and ziptie it to the cluster...

I ended up buying the Dart Manta screen because I like the way it looked when I needed to use a screen, and it was actually a little bit functional. While not using the Dart screen, I figured I would make my own mini sport screen to use the existing Dart bracket just for looks.

I may just end up taking off the upper bracket from the Dart setup when I'm not using the travel screen if I can't get my own little custom sport screen made.

Thank you anyways

Not so much my bike but I'm going for a LASIK consultation soon.
My Fiance did this! She hated riding because she had to mess around with her helmet and glasses. Couldn't be happier now! You'll love it and it will improve your riding experience.

Sold it. bah humbug.

That was a great bike no doubt. However I've seen some paparazzi photos of you with a stunning new (to you) red and white beauty! Rumors have it you took a trip to the heartland to find her. Can you substantiate these rumors Talus?
