Got my spencer modified seat back and plan on riding her tomorrow. Gonna lube the chain today.

I paid $75 plus shipping both ways and he turned it around in about 1 week.

Visually, the seat looks like factory stock, but I can feel that the foam is shaped differently. Flatter in the back and taller in the front.

My sitting bones would start hurting after about 1 hour.

For $75 I'm not expecting a night and day revelation in comfort but a noticeable improvement

Put 120 miles on the clock today and bought a ProGel Pad for the ride home. 86 bucks but the 60 miles home was a lot more comfy than the first 60. Riding to the girl friends tonight for naked night. Grilling some chicken breasts. Alcohol will be consumed. Fun Fun.

I think wrapped headers look bass-ass. Gives the bike a less polished, more attitude, punch you in the face if you step too close kind of look. Some like it, some don't....I can't wait to do mine sometime.
Because I agree with this.

You can pay for school, but you can't buy class.

Not an "official" recall. But Triumph is replacing the old-style units free of charge, failed or not.
Ooo...that may be something worth investigating with my Triumph dealership. Might be a good thing to change just to be cautious.

Naked night? Heck yes :)

I installed my butt fricken ugly woodcraft sliders so I can go to the track tomorrow!!!!!

My dealer hasn't mentioned any thing about any recall. I was just there yesterday and nothing. Isn't Triumph obligated to notify its customers of any recall or does this just apply to safety or EPA issues. I have since replaced mine with a mosfet unit. Would it be a good idea to reinstall the old one and take it in to get another one? Would that be considered moral? I can't see that it would make a difference since it is still a factory unit that was purchased with the bike that has been recalled. Any thoughts?

It's been mentioned several times it's not an official recall...

Is the time and effort really worth $100 to go through all that?

It would seem Triumph has made it "official" from the beginning of August. My local dealer was clueless so I opted to do their job and contacted Triumph directly, they asked for the last 6 digits of my VIN and told me that a recall had just been issued for the RR units.

Took that info to my dealer, they were still rather cautious so I had them phone Triumph and not long after they had a printed version of the recall. The notice has a part number for the replacement kit along with all of the details on what to check etc.

I asked about getting a copy of the recall info when I spoke with Triumph and they said anyone registered on "My Triumph" should be notified of it. Aside from having to do my service departments job for them by phoning Triumph about the recall and the new part taking 2 WEEKS to get here (plus the week of dicking around to convince the dealer I wasn't blowing smoke) all will be well in the end...I hope.

All for a 2010 R with less than 2000kms on it so damn near brand new.

I believe it is - got wind of it being a proper recall from a UK forum. It was as simple as giving Triumph North America a call:

Customer Service: (678) 854-2010 (How is it Triumph NA doesn't have a toll free customer service line as well? Talk about being cheap)

Got a receptionist of sorts, quickly explained I was looking for some recall info and she forwarded me right away to someone that could look it up. Simply told them I was looking for recall info and they asked for the last 6 digits of my VIN and confirmed my bike is included in the recall.

Once phoning Triumph North America it took all of a couple minutes to get confirmation, very simple process but still not something we should have to do...the dealers should be aware about it. Piss poor communication on behalf of (at least) Triumph North America.
