Spent the last 3 days in Adelaide (I'm from Melbourne) and didn't see any 675s at all...

Too cold for all u pansies...??

I'm heading up to Melb for my (3)weekly doctors appointment. Can't find any worth seeing down here in Geelong. I've been to 2 and called 20+, no one likes to see people who don't only have a cough/cold to attend to it seems. Oh well, any excuse to use the bike more than 'just' for fun is always appreciated, albeit the highway road is very very snooze worthy!

I've seen a few speed triples down here and the occasional sprint (thought I saw a blue 675 coming up behind me when I was in the car y/day but it was a blue sprint). I'll see the elusive daytona down here in Geelong besides my own I think... maybe.... one day!

Until then, I'll let people spot me most days of the week! :itsok: At least down here I speak to both my neighbours in a friendly way, in Richmond we had a crazy (literally) and the other side were 'snobs' but down here, we get on with one neighbour great, a single mum who is cool, she's given us a swing set cause her 15/16? yr old daughter doesn't use it, our Cassandra will love it :p She's been on a few swings down here and pushes her self to get higher, not bad for a 9 month old baby.. She's definitely got my love for adrenaline :D

Since I don't have any spotted sights or pics, here's a 8 second video of my daughter from the other day [nomedia="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VtWKAwsPT1c"]YouTube- cassie standing 25th July 2010.wmv[/nomedia]

Spotted a blue 675 around 10am in Geelong whilst out with the family in the car. Seemed a guy of older years than the early 20s  If only I could spot more whilst out on the bike (a whole 1 in 6 months riding down here, albeit it's been winter down here, the non injured wussies have to stay home I guess :biggrinjester: At least I get out as much as I can even through my nerve damage has me feeling the COLD so much more. I'd be able to wear shorts + tshirt at 15c+, nowdays it's rugged up any temp under mid/high 20s due to the bloody nerve damage) Could be worse, I could not be spotting bikes at all because I'm not on the bike but fortunately, I am on the bike most weeks

Send me a PM so I can join ya :p I'm still "well enough" to ride with my dodgy arm as I guess you can tell since I saw you down at PI and I was on my bike

But anyway, I live in Hamlyn Heights just a couple corners from the Geelong Ring road so do a lap via Vines Road coming off Ballarat Hwy and come back on at the (I think) Hamilton Hwy and I might see ya :coolgleamA: Sending me a PM so I can join you is a hell of a lot better plan :biggrinjester:

I will be hittin GOR some time in the next few weeks (assuming its dry). Will let you know.

If i go down, I head down really early. Usually leave from BP at end of Ring Rd at 7am. Can get down to Apollo Bay with virtually no traffic, have coffee then ride home. Back home before lunch and rest of the day to do something with.

^^ Ha ha to the past few posts.. You inspired me Juz, I went for a morning run to Apollo Bay and on another forum there was a topic "What have you rediscovered after a long period of abstinence?"

Here's my post :D

Carving up the road! Since my nerve damage in my shoulder in '06, I've been somewhat babying my arm + bike due to not having enough strength (and confidence) to ride like I used to. Well, that seems (mostly) all gone now! Did a Great Ocean Road ride today and WOAH..... I was getting that feeling of carving up the roads again and having almost if not complete control of the bike with regards to my right arm/shoulder

It was a beautiful feeling! And able to do 100%+ of the recommended corner speeds again with feeling 100% in control at all times was simply magnificient for me! And I am still watchful of my injury but as said, I was doing speeds where I was 100% in control, no feeling "a bit worried" after some corners for possibles as it was all back to "normal" like the old times! I still am not riding the fastest of course, simply because the speed limits back in the day of 100km/h aren't there for most of the trip and I'm not one to break speed limits where Mr Plod are possibly there to help relieve my wallet of my $$$$ so ,,|, to them and I go quick in places that doesn't give them a chance to "bust me" for speed limits due to taking lots of corners on the GOR at the 80km/h speed limit (remembering recommended speed limits of the 35-50km/h are not LEGAL speed limits, just recommended

And just to add one gripe, got it annoys me where some car (sometimes truck or caravan !!!) is doing around the recommended corner speed which is anything from 40-70% of what I would do in those same corners on my bike and they pass a heap of the "Please consider following vehicles" signs with "slow car" pull ofs but they continue to drive probably in their own little shut off world thinking they aren't slow but to other(s), they are.

I don't let it bother me except in a couple extreme circumstances and with the (sometimes) stupid rule of no overtaking on single unbroken lines where it used to be, less than 1-2 years ago that if it was "safe" to overtake in one's view, you could overtake. Great for mbikes with quick acceleration but now it blows due to being possibly booked for overtaking SLOW vehicles in a second or two from crossing an unbroken single line. I prefer not to break road rules even if I think it's a stupid rule imho. Lots bigger things in life to worry about

Once again, I LOVE the feeling of carving up the roads again on my bike. Such a great feeling, I LOVE the adrenaline! And I apologise if any spelling errors, I'm jumping back on the bike to head off to the pool to meet my wife + baby as we've been exercising at gym + pool plus taking our 11 month old into the pool, she LOVES it!!!! Had to RUSH my post!!!!

--- End post---

It may be a bit messed up as there were emoticons in the post that probably didn't translate well in the copy/paste which I CBF proof reading, I'm off to bed as I'm worn out from a HUGE day and we're off to Melbourne tomorrow to see friends down here this week from Tassie. And todays result, here is a pic.. It's MAJOR considering my [stuffed] shoulder and how I've been babying it after a couple big scares/oopsys a year or two ago but it felt AWESOME today, given me the most confidence I have felt in ages.

Tyres may not be 'shredded' but hey, it was on the road, a cold day and injured me, I'm proud  My wife took a couple pics with her phone and made me this collage picture as a present as she knows how stoked I was after today's ride :curtsey: So, spotted, a 675 rider VERY VERY happy with his dodgy shoulder and his performance hehe

*Edit* ha, just remembered, the 100% of the corner speed thing means double. 100%+ of the corner speed on top of the original recommended speed, not 'just' what it says *blush* Ok, bed time for moi!

Spotted 2 or 3 parked in various spots in Melbourne, 2 blue and I think I saw a red, can't remember if it was a 675 or earlier model. We went to Melb to pick up the metallica tix as ticketek doesn't have pick up in geelong.

All good, saw some friends who are down that live in Tassie, we've been MADE TO come down 'soon' and remember to bring my bike  I think I may have to since they twisted my arm :laugh::laugh::laugh:

Have a good weekend all!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I first seen them in concert in '89 and 21 years later going to the next one LOL. I used to worship them in the 80s, lost interest (they broke my music heart) in the 90s and mainly liking their live stuff, most records/songs for ages for me range from bleh to 'ok' for the past 20 years or so, ever since 'black' was released.

Still, probably the last time I'll want to see them, their age factor, possibly mine (LOL, not likely, I'm still a teen at heart :p) but being a new daddy means I won't be able to get out as much as I want, our daughter turns 1 october 2nd :curtsey:
