More pics tomorrow. I did confirm the brake/clutch levers, clip ons, and radiator guards are the same as the 12. We will be test fitting a set of Attack clamps tomorrow.

 

Can you confirm that the rearsets are the same also? Thanks!

 

The left side is the same, however if you look at the right side you will notice that the exhaust bolts to the rearset itself. I know that Attack is working on a bracket (similar to what they use on the S1000RR rearsets) however no ETA on when it will be available.

 

Here's a look at one of the many differences between the 2013 Triumph 675R and the previous generation. The top photo is of the new 2013 frame, and it's obvious that it's designed for more airflow. The bottom photo is of the previous frame, which is much more restrictive.

 

TJ, once you have the bikes setup comparable to the 12' you guys were running at Daytona is it possible to give us the dynoed power variances between the two?

I'm not asking for specific total output numbers, as I'm sure those are hush hush.

I just want to know how much better the new engine is compared to the outgoing...

 

We are thinking a few more HP however until we open the motors up that is just a guess.

That's correct.

Here's a breakdown of how things are run from the front to the ABS. The black wheel speed sensor cable is clipped to the brakelines and follows them from the front

Up through the frame (it is disconnected in this photo and would normally connect to the harness)

And back to the ABS unit.

The entire system is very rigid and held its shape even when we removed it from the bike.

This is a good shot showing a few of the many changes on the new motor. The heat exchanger has been completely redesigned, and you can also see the separate cylinders from upper case half.

Random question.

The top picture of all the parts with the Daytona in the background why is that far bikes fork all gold? Or is that just me going dumb from being up for two days?

 

It's the OEM Ohlins forks from the 675R and they have a coated lower tube. You can see our 2009 next to it with the standard forks.

 

Here's how all three of the girls sit now that the motors have been sent off. Seems like a good, clean stopping point for the end of the week.

 

Yeah I knew they were coated I guess I just have never seen them at that angle to look so gold.


Also any plans on making a tail section, the stock ones look so heavy, could just be looks though.

Also have you guys been able to weigh stuff to see how it compares to the older gen?

 

The new exhaust is about 2 lbs lighter, and the wheels definitely look a bit smaller. I have yet to pull the tires and confirm that they are indeed lighter than the 2012's.

 

Ah ok I am sure a bunch of us would appreciate to see what all is different and yeah knew the exhaust would be lighter with less piping, but 2lbs is a nice drop.

Hey TJ!! They look awesome and will start to evolve into monsters!!! Silly question.. So you build 4 of them (maybe 5), keep one for the team and sell the others to customers?

 

We will build 3 for Joey (2 to be used at the AMA events and the 3rd as a backup). The 4th will most likely stripped completely down and used as spares.

 

I saw the video a few weeks back. I am curious to see what less stroke and more bore will do with the same list of mods.

Do the new 2013 need aftermarket tripples to make handle decently?

 

The oem offset on the 2013 is much better than the previous bike. That said we like the adjustability of the Attack clamps and that is why we will be using them on these builds.

 

Hey TJ... Another silly question about the attack triples. How much adjustment do you think it will be done during the season? Is it a set it and forget it kinda deal or are you moving the triples depending on the track? How do you measure the angle? Does it have preset positions?

are you planning on running the stock slipper clutch? have you found a way of adjusting the level or slip at all with the standard 2013 clutch? Having ridden the new 2013 bike on track, i much prefer the feel of the 2012 standard non slip clutch so im hoping to find a way of tightening up the clutch how to reduce the intervention and level of slip
