I'm in the process of converting my Daytona to a Street Triple. I had asked previously on the forum if anyone knew for a fact if the Street Triple top yoke/triple tree could be used with the Daytona bottom yoke/triple tree. Unfortunately nobody was able to give me a definitive answer.
Well I can now answer my own question.
If you want to put handlebars on a Daytona you can either:
1. Modify the existing Daytona top yoke/triple tree
2. Fit the top yoke from a Street Triple. If you do this then you MUST fit the bottom yoke/triple tree from the Street Triple also. The reason is the Street Triple yokes/triple trees have a different offset. If you try to fit just the Street Triple top yoke/triple tree IT WILL NOT FIT. You have to change both.
You can use top and bottom yokes/triple trees from either a Street Triple or Street Triple R as they are exactly the same part numbers.
