Guys...

I'm moving from a 2006 D675 to a 2008 D675 ! Do I have to make some mileage before install my tbr exhaust and a power commander? Can I install it before the first maintence?

Tks

That's pretty much up to your dealer...

I can't imagine they'd have a problem with the exhaust (warranty-wise), but the Power Commander may be a problem. These bikes come with a 2 year warranty, which in my personal opinion is definitely worth having.

On the other hand, I can't imagine them having a problem with only the exhaust, especially if you let them install the T.O.R. tune to compliment the freer flowing exhaust. Speak to your local technicians to be sure.

When I was Working with a dealer they told me that add-ons generally dont void the warrenty. They said what voids the warrenty is when you start cracking into the engine internals and what not. I would just make them aware of what you are going to do and if you want to get really anal to avoid any grey area, have them sign something aknowledging that the work doesnt void the warrenty.

Speaking from experience with cars and trucks, ANY addon can void parts of a warranty, it just has to be able to be linked to your failure. It doesn't have to be the exact cause or even proven to have caused the issue but something like an exhaust plays a role in engine components so it could be linked to engine troubles voiding warranty items. That being said most dealers will look the other way on it if you treat them with respect and such but be a jerk and they can void lots of things from a small addon.

I'm going to ride it stock til the warranty runs out. At that point, it'll probably become a track only bike as I'm hoping Triumph will have the 170 hp Daytona out by 2010.

i´ve checked with my dealer and there is no problem with the waranty.... My question is.... what about my engine, will the pc and the exhaust cause any problem or any performance issue in a brand new engine? Shouldn´t I run a few miles first? Or it doens´t make any diference?

tkx a lot

I wondered the same thing.. I'm changing the oil now (350 miles) and let the modding begin. I keep reading that after the motor heats up a few times and everything sets, Its pretty much broken in.

So my vote is wait until after the first service and do it early at 300 miles.

Im comming here from the car world. Ive always broken in any fresh engine within the first 20 miles on the tune or a basemap or that is close enough (the Triumph tune is close enough for the bike) or do it on the dyno. After breaking in the engine on the street I get it on the dyno for fine tuning. Anytime I upgrade fuel system and/or air system, I get on the dyno to make adjustments.

From all the reading Ive done, there seems to be many pc/tuneboy ecu maps floating around this forum that getting on the dyno will not be the most critical thing when upgrading the exhaust or intake and what not. But Im a firm believer on spending the money to get on a dyno with the fuel I choose to use, the parts installed, and get the best tune I can so to make sure the engine wont be damaged.
