The rear has lost a net bias of 10mm of height, but with the overall lowering of the CoG, I've not noticed this as any real slowdown in the steering. The bike is more stable, doesn't wheelie as easily, and doesn't have that front end wanting to tuck feeling at high lean. The bike transitions more quickly too.
Thank you, sir - that's pretty much what I figured the result would be. That much height bias change should still just move the front trail into the low 90's, which has a bigger effect on front end feel than rake alone. I'm one who leans towards thinking the stock trail number on the '07's is a bit low, so a little bump there should help, imho.

Put me down for a 20mm set, please!

If you were going to install 40mm drop plates (which equates to about a 25mm drop in seat height), I would also pull the forks through the triple tree about as far as you can get away with, which I reckon would be about 12mm of gold showing above the triples. I also probably wouldn't do the full 40mm rear drop, but rather wind up the rear preload by 10mm or so to achieve a ~30mm drop. All together that should equate about a 24mm drop in seat height while keeping the steering acceptably quick. I'd also remove the peg feelers from the footpegs so that they don't touch down too easily.
What's the difference between this setting (quoted above) and install a 20mm links + front suspension reduction, and no preload adjustmen? It would also lower the seat about the same 25mm, wouldn't it?

In for Standard plates.

Flux, please consider my doubt above, I'm very intereseted in those links, and I'm concerned about taking the best option. Besides, I don't want to miss deadline for ordering it.

Thanks!

Well, the seat can't be lowered by 25mm with a 20mm link drop-plate. The most that the 20mm plates can give you is around a 14-15mm seat height reduction if you drop the front to 12mm gold showing, unless you soften the preload both front and rear, but then you're somewhat compromising the available suspension action range. Adding a bit of preload with the 40mm drop plates is different 'cos they give you some added rear top-out range to play with. So out of the two, if you were after seat height drops of 20mm or more, the 40mm drop plates and a stiffer rear preload would be the better option, in my opinion.

Nice, let's try the 40mm - added to the list.
You already have it done, right? Email me (ccastaldi@gmail.com) for trading and shipping details.

Okay, thanks guys. I'll close the ordering process and put the batch order in today with the machinists.

I'll order up:
30 pairs of standards
6 pairs of 10mm drops
4 pairs of 20mm drops
0 pairs of 40mm drops (already have some made up)

This will probably be the last batch I do of these, and that way I can keep a few plates aside in case any last minute stragglers want some.

Hello Flux. I might be up for these if you still have some. Can you tell me is shipping to the UK usually problem free i.e. have all Brits receiveed theirs? Also whay are you having them anodised? Is the material not more corrosion resistant than the standard Triumph ones already?
