Hi all,

First post, looking for some assistance.

I'm looking for a wiring diagram for the ABS system for my 2014 street triple R.

Also, if anyone has one, I'd like to see if anyone has a photo of their str with the seat off, specifically showing the area of the relays by the battery.

When I bought my STR last year, I didn't like the idea of ABS, and requested that the dealer disable it. They told me they would be able to shut the system off with their software. Since then, I have decided to give it a shot, and want to enable it to give it a whirl. The dealer is fairly far away, so I began to research ways to turn it back on myself. After a bit of research, I'm fairly confident they were not being honest when they told me they could disable it using software, and instead disabled it by other means. Using dealertool, I see I have a currently present fault for the front wheel speed sensor that can not clear. I traced the sensor to the connector at the harness and it appears to be plugged in. The ABS fuse is ok.

So long story short, I'm trying to get a better idea of the system so I can trace down what has been done. I have one open spot in the relay panel where a relay could be, but is not, but I'm doubtful that a relay would be used in the front sensor circuit, but I am curious about that open spot, as I was able to find one picture off google that showed what appered to be a 14 str and there was a relay in that spot.

I appreciate any help that can be given.

Hey GZ,

Yeah, my ABS warning light is on. My guess is they just disabled it by unplugging something. I honestly thought I would find the front sensor unplugged, but I was able to see that connector under the airbox and it does appear to still be plugged in.

Thanks for pictures, guys, it appears that the open relay spot is correct.

I thought they may have pulled the fuse too, but I checked it, and assuming there is only the 1 20amp fuse by the fuse box, then it is good. Installed and not popped. As of right now I'm assuming whatever they did is in the front sensor circuit as I do have that fault present.

Awesome, thanks guys.

There doesn't seem to be much to the system, so I'm really going to have to focus on that connector and get a better look to make sure it's completely plugged in. It's tight under the tank, and though I can see it, I can't get my hands on it. Hopefully it just appears to be plugged in completely and isn't, because otherwise based on that diagram I'm not sure how they did it.

Anyone know for sure whether the factory dealer software can disable the ABS? I've found nothing that says it can be done, other then what the dealer told me, but I haven't found 100% proof otherwise, either.

So just re-visiting this thread. Brought my bike in for the 500 mile service last week, hating the ABS, dealer said they would try and disable it but weren't able to. They are emailing Factory Triumph to find out more info. I pulled the fuse, but the ABS light stays permanently on when I do that. Anybody know if there is a resistor or something I can plug into the harness instead of the ABS module so it still thinks its there even though its not? Worst part is I dont even have the option in the menu to disable it (though it would still get tiresome to do it everytime I turned the bike on)...

With the key on,go into the settings menu.
Scroll thru options
Mine goes from shift to odometer to abs.

If this doesn't work,it is very possible the dealer did not enable the ability to disable the abs.
Make sense?

My dealer did not do this,so I went back to have them do it for me.It should be part of set up.

From what I was told,Ducati does this also.It is supposed to ensure the dealer has a safety talk with you about the abs.
