Baxley works really well in the garage. ride in, get off, walk away.
transporting with it would be ok too but i have a pitbull trailer restraint for that.
a rear stand is a must, even for basic maintenance like oiling the chain.
i have just upgraded my stands as i'm now hitting the track a lot & using tyre warmers but my previous cheapo vertical horizon ones have worked fine. you can lift the back of the bike on your own without any problems once you've done it a couple of times.
it's down to personal prefferance but i'd go with the v type that use bobbins rather than the blade type.
for the love of god, Don't put a center stand on a Triumph. please.
