I have found an engine to replace the one that is currently in my bike. When I bought the bike I was told that the knocking was due to a spun bearing from oil starvation. The PO took a crank out of a 675 street triple and replaced the crank but there is a distinct heavy knocking in what sounds like the top end now so instead of chasing what could it be or rebuild it, I'm going to replace the engine.
Anyway, I've read on her several times that others have sold parts of the old engine to make up part of the cost of replacing the engine. What exactly are people willing to buy? And what is the best way to sell either the engine as is or parts of it?

Hmmm…
I wonder what it would cost to ship to NZ…
I'd like to blueprint and race kit one, but it's so time consuming I'd have to get a spare and do it to that one.
What are the dimensions and weight of one of these little power houses?
I may look into it in a few months depending on what the future holds for me.
As for the price, check it out on Ebay, that should give you a ball park.

i'm in the same boat
only thing that's "broken" in the engine is the cam chain tensioner and guide.
have just been too busy to part it out / sell it

What year bike are these engines from?

I am looking to pick up a spare engine for the race season.

I thought about it but it's a bit cheaper to just replace the engine. I couldn't find anyone that wanted to rebuild mine.
