What will Monkey Spanker Weekly say?

What will MCN's review of the 675 (next week) say?

My bet is - they'll say, 'it handles well, is smooth, torquey and has the edge on the road; but that they think the R6 and possibly GSXR6 will have the revvy edge on the track - but it's very close and only a back to back test will tell' - gasp, shock, horror!

What do you think?

p.s. was in On Yer Bike (Aylesbury) last week - and much to my surprise, they had both colours of the new R6 sat on the showroom floor. Looking unloved. With no 'sold' signs on them <snigger>. Perhaps there's no waiting list for the super-dooper hi-tech Yamaha then?
Next week - sounds a bit early ??

Have they said they'll defiantely have it in ??

Depends who it's written by.

Doubt they are actually invited, they normally use a freelance.

IMHO - think they'll say fantastic handling, brillant power through out, but misses out at top.

Not that many of us would ever get to that top range.

  That's it R6 prices will go through the floor.

Yep, page 2 - "And don't miss the January 11 issue of MCN for the first ride of the new Daytona 675." Also on Page 8 there is a colout ad stating that it will include an "exclusive comparison with Yamaha's crazy new R6".

that wants to suggest its a back to back test but dosent say it is. id bet money its a brief ride like all the reports weve seen so far, with a side column arbritarily rating one against the other, with a score sheet.
That still sounds way too early - will be very surprised if it is in next week.

Triumph won't take an R6 for a comparison test. Think you're probably wright Gavin - not a back to back, but a comparison.

The same happened with the Speed Triple - it was promsied for the following weeks paper and it didn't go in.
Well if we're only weeks away from dealers getting their demo's and BIKE rode it as far back as October time, then I'll be very suprised if it doesn't happen!
Agreed, time is now marching on with UK deliveries starting in March and demo bikes arriving late Feb.

The magazines need time to get the details into their March issues out early Feb!!

I think you might just see a shift in the mags this year, i feel they might just pitch the D675 on top despite it being a few bhp down on the R6 or not having some of the up to date features.

The R6 might be a tine bit better on the track but overall the D675 is bound to be the class leader.

Then again what do i know!!

Think the UK should be getting their demos late Jan / early Feb (just in time for the snow)
