In the winter in the Northwest I have been using the Avon sport rains.
They work well in the wet as well in the cool 45degree sunny days when
we get them.

I thought there were only front and rear tires?

The "right" tire is subjective. It's all personal preference and depends on your riding style as well. I ran some race takeoffs, Pilot Powers, and Pilot Road 2s. I loved the wearing ability of the Road 2's, loved the stikyness of the powers, and hated the takeoffs as they were old and I couldn't get enough heat in them. But that's all I got to try in the year I had my bike.

How many miles do you have on the avons and what kind of riding do you do? Is this a track tire? I couldn't find what you are talking about.
