Great forum and thanks for letting me join. Much appreciated.
I’m a long time rider of just about anything with two wheels. A couple of years ago I decided to build a reverse trike. I needed a a really compact bike engine and I always liked the 675 Daytona. So here we are…
I acquired this motor for next to nothing. I would really like to rebuild it, but I have no idea the year it was made so I can get parts. The engine number is 6309003.
Also, it there a good non-dealer parts source that someone here has dealt with?

That is a first gen (06-08) motor. It has the round ports and grey cases. Triumph uses the VIN to identify the model and not the engine number.

Thanks for the advice.
I also need to source an ecu and wiring. I have noticed that 1st gen wiring and ecus are very expensive and tough to come by. Does anyone know if the ecu or harness from an 06-08 street triple R will work? I plan to ditch the exup valve anyway. Thanks in advance...

I don't believe there was a ST3R in 06-08. I do remember reading however, that a 2nd gen harness and ecu work with the first gen engine. One or two pins/wires need to be changed though. You will have to research this one.
