Sorry to hear about your get off and hope you heal fast. I too had a spill, last July on my StRipleR. A lady pulled from a stop sign and hit me on the right. Gear saved my bacon and protection bits saved my StRipleR. I'm looking for a good deal on a black tank. I rode the StripleR all week. I added another Dirt/Supermoto(WR250R/X) and sold my BMW.

Trying to finish a remodel on my house, so my boy and I can enjoy the fall colors, through the Ozarks.

Thx... nlp
Hey Nate, glad to hear you are OK. Keep an eye on Ebay every day, a nice tank might show up. Looks to be some really great weather out right now to do some riding - post up some photos if you get a chance. :smile2:

lol..... Could be some ill-feelings between each other. :smile2:
What if I told you that in my motorcycling life I've had more incidents of break-downs and failures on motorbikes when with a female pillion despite generally riding without one.

I'm telling you, these machines are cursed.:grin2:

On another note, I admit I'd love to see a motorcycle version of the 80's film "Christine", based on a story by Stephen King.

Regulator Replacement

Afternoon y'all,

It seems I have the symptoms of a failed regulator. It is the FH012AB style. The dash fades out, the lights are dim and the battery is drained after about 40 minutes of riding. Is the FH020AA a direct replacement? I've searched all day and from what I can tell of the FH012** versions are the same, just the last 2 digits, (AA, AB, BA) indicate the manufacturer.

Also, I found my replacement tank, out of OKC. It was someone's track bike tank. Looking forward to putting a custom paint job or wrap on it this winter.

Happy Holidays to y'all.

Morning Y'all..
So far the FH020AA worked like a champ. I picked up a spare gas tank and plan to try my luck at applying a vinyl wrap to the StRiple, next week. I see the Rat Raid has changed to Euro Raid. Probably won't be signing up for that. I've already experienced the red-headed step-child treatment from the BMW crowd, having owned a single cylinder BMW. I doubt seriously having a Triumph or Supermoto'd Husqvarna will change improve my standing.

Welcom 7_Heaven to the Striple Community. This forum is pretty quiet but certainly helpful. There's a large group of ADV Riders in NWA, that camp and dirt ride a couple times a year. WPS.

I'll see y'all when I see y'all. :nerd2:

I finally found a replacement tank for my StripleR, on Ebay. The shipping from Hinkley, UK, was $60 more than the cost of the tank. But I'm not complaining.

I guess my Stator fried when I my bike went down. Best I can figure is it was oil starved for a few moments, while laying on the right side. Anyways, it's been replaced and now I have some touchup paint to add to finish my rebuild. At this point, I'm just going to ride the wheels off of my StripleR. I may ride up in NWA, next weekend to see my Mom and rail the twisties.

I know some of y'all are looking to be in AR in June, I may see you but won't know until the week of the Raid. We're so fortunate to have good roads to ride and good rivers to paddle, NW AR and SW MO. My kids and I paddled the Upper Buffalo River (10.6 miles), last Saturday. The weather and the water level were perfect. The pic is my middle daughter, who is graduating form HS in 2 weeks. "Yes, time waits for no one, and it won't wait for me"

Ride safe y'all and call your Momma.

That water looks just about right. I was down there 5/4-5/6 and the rivers were way up (and muddy) from the storms on 5/3. You might have heard or seen (a blur, lol) us ride by. :wink3:
We were up there on 4/28/18 the weekend prior and the water was great. Not as clear as the Sylamore Creek, near Push Mountain but very nice, nonetheless.

BTW, the Raid weekend is the same weekend for "Free Fishing" Arkansas. You can fish any waterway w/o having to have a permit, includes residents and non-residents.

Here is a pic of the Hemmed In Hollow waterfall. At 209', it's the tallest waterfall between the Applachians and the Rockies. Easily accessible from the Buffalo River.
