Just watched the second session of free practice on the live timings. Very impressive ride from Glen Richards who was in first place for nearly the whole session. Halfway through he was put into second as Martin took 3 tenths out of him, then the very next lap, Glen dropped half a second to go two tenths faster again. He then held fastest lap until after the chequer flag came out but Hobbs then stuck in a flyer on his last lap to take 1st in free practice with a 1m17.995.

Selected free practice results as follows:

2nd Richards 1m18.122 Triumph - Map Embassy Racing
15th Youngy 1m19.779 Triumph - Map Embassy Racing
22nd Walter 1m20.271 Triumph - Interserve Racing
28th Fagan 1m20.949 Triumph - JHS Racing
30th Frost 1m21.270 Triumph - Team Buff
34th Tempest 1m21.785 Triumph - Slippery Sam Racing
35th Dye 1m21.818 Triumph - Team Buff
38th Hallet 1m22.022 Triumph - TCG Motorsport
45th Parry 1m24.162 Triumph - Loki Racing

So 9 out of 47 bikes are Triumphs. A fifth. That's pretty bloody exciting to see. I found it interesting to see that over the two sessions that Richards managed 50 laps and Youngy managed just 14. I will try and find out why.

Best of luck in qualifying tomorrow to the lot of you.
