I track a 2007 675 which I bought as a street bike with 30 k miles. Two points on the engine you want to look at are the cam chain tensioner and oil heat exchanger. I replaced the tensioner with a manual, non-hydraulic unit and the water/oil exchanger with a billet oil only cooler. Check the valve clearances and then giver her the beans. Other mods I made were a Ohlins shock, track tires and track brake pads, quick shifter and motion pro throttle cables. I'm only a novice track rider. If you are looking to get more serious and do some actual racing you will be deleting emissions parts, changing the forks, etc. Have fun, the 675 is one of the best all around 600-class sport motorcycles and it absolutely loves being on the track. Get a few sets of sprockets so you can adapt to short and long tracks, and go with a 520 size chain.
