Hi everyone,

I am going to be purchasing a 2007 Daytona 675 in Greece within the next month and I just wanted to ask about common problems and make sure that I have the correct parts as I will purchase them here (In the US) and bring them with me. I don't mind spending money for potential problems so long as the solution is reasonable.

1- Oil cooler problem- Triumph Daytona 675/R & Street Triple/R 2006-12 UKRS Billet Oil Cooler | UK Race Support
2- Rectifier Problem- Mosfet Regulator Rectifier for Triumph 600 650 675 955 1050 1994-2018 | Ducati 749 848 999 1098 1000 1099 1198 2003-2015

Any other problems you guys think I should take care or proactively?

With the aftermarket rectifier (MOFSET type) would I be able to use a lithium battery with no problems?

The rectifier doesn't care what type of battery it sends juice to. Just make sure your lithium battery has a smart charging module integrated. I think they mostly all do now but the older ones didn't and so could be overcharged. Lithium batteries will fail quickly if overcharged.

Charging issues are the only thing I've ever encountered on any of my Triumphs.

That and the oil filter dripping (just a little) when using aftermarket filters. Strangely on two of my triples I've gotten a small drip at the filter (various brands) that didn't fix with more tightening but cleared up when using a Triumph filter. Probably just an odd coincidence but in your situation I'd buy Triumph oil filters.

Mosfet is an improvement but still a shunt type R/R - alternator is producing at max all the time and excess is turned into heat.

The best option is a Series type R/R. These turn off the alternator when bike has all the juice it needs (for microseconds at a time). Result is waaay less heat and much less work for the alternator.

I upgraded my Buell 1125 with a series R/R and it fixed all my problems (annoyances really).

There's a guy who specializes in these and that's who I bought from. Have never had an issue and it was 3 years ago now.
