New moderator?

LightsDarkness sent me a note:

I am interested in becoming a moderator. I have been on this forum since it first started and I have no intentions of leaving. I am on just about every day.

What is the process for this? Who is the right person to contact, if not you. Thank you and have a great day.

I don't know the guy and am not around often enough to know what our needs are in terms of new mods.

My reply to him for the moment:

I posted up your email in the moderator's forum. I'm honestly not around often enough to know what we need in terms of mod staffing at the moment -if nothing else, though, this'll get your name on the list for the next time we go looking.

Typically the process is a bit of a popularity contest, to be honest. When I was made a mod, the then-mods looked at the various users who had a presence on the forum, debated pros and cons of each for a bit, and then voted.

If there's a reply to my thread on the mod forum, I'll let you know.

He asked and so did DecepticonDon.. I recently added Godly, but he is currently having personal issues and I am not sure he is going to be around at all.

May have to revoke it for now and add on another. I'm gonna look at other users a bit too.

I'd offer to help, but I really don't know anyone any more. I recognize DecepticonDon's name, and Logans08Daytona (or whatever his handle is), has put his name in the mod hat as well. But aside from name recognition and vague, years-old impressions... I got nothin...

besides mad bot-squashin' skillz.

Haha, it feels like a Zombie invasion or something. Picking them off one by one but they keep coming in.

Gonna look into this tonight more.

It is like Zombieland. I just hope we don't run out of bullets.

Biggest frustration for me is that if they would just do as I suggested and ban anyone who tries to register with a nation of 123456, it would knock out 99% of the bots. Grrr.

Exactly, which bothers me because the members see us as the problem, when its vertical scope that's screwing up.

you should see the reply i made in that post:rant2::readit::rant2: i'm getting pissed at the members attitudes and am getting close to getting the ban stick out. I'd love to be able to walk away from this forum but that leave's
you guys/girls up shit creak without a paddle and i can't/won't do that

Thanks, I am felt the same way recently.. But I'd hate to do that to everyone.

Hi All!

Favor..... could one of you remove me as a moderator or whatever my account is still set at? I'm damn tired of all the reported post stuff hitting my e-mail. That and the stinkin forum logs me out everytime I click between a post. I think it hates me :laugh:
