Hi folks, first post here after having just acquired a new (to me) '08 Daytona 675 trackbike.

For the past few years, I've spent many laps watching the ass-end of this thing vanishing into the distance...
But my paddock buddy has decided to move on to a KTM RC8 project. I told him last season that when he was ready to fully commit to the RC8, I wanted first-refusal on the D675. Well, that happened this past Sunday.

At this point, the bike is pretty well sorted/prepared. But still looking forward to finding tips & tricks to keep it happy & healthy.

Welcome. Is the bike quick, or was your buddy quick on the bike?

Former owner is a retired racer w/ 10-ish years of race experience. He consistently clocks laps 20-25 secs. faster than I do at The Ridge (I'm a bit on the old-ish/plump-ish/slow-ish end of things; he's old too, but lean & wiry).
It was a "B" backup racebike for owner previous to that, he was faster still...

D675 is nearly 90# lighter than my current mount - 4" shorter wheelbase as well.
It feels tiny. It is dialed. It RRRIPS.
