Mirror options for 2014 D675R?

361 Views 7 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  wh28212
Hi all
Well I’m finally done with the OEM mirrors. I tried everything and they keep wobbling and folding back at speed.
Been looking everywhere but haven’t found any valid options?

Any ideas?
Need something that will look decent and not ruing the front of the bike.

This is how I fixed mine when they became wobbly. Been a year and still holding strong.

Amother option is to ditch the faring mounted mirrors and go to a bar end. The advantage is they are fully away from my body so I have a good rear view and I can remove them in two minutes for track days. Mine are from Rizoma but there are lots of brands that work.

I fixed mine (temporarily at least) by sticking on a couple of tiny bits of Gorilla Epoxy Putty to wedge the mirror tight. Only one of my mirrors is loose and I don't know how long this will last, but it's been a few days and it seems very tight.

I would try a practice run with a couple of layers of duct tape first just to make sure you get an idea of how thick the wedges need to be, I didn't need much, maybe a couple of millimeters only.

Thanks
I see I had already seen and replied to your post at that time.
Just wasn’t that bad I guess so I didn’t get around to it.

This time for sure.

Will try to fix it that way and maybe tighten it just right so that it will still move if I hit anything.

Thanks again.

Can you still fold the mirrors in with this fix?
No. I could never fold mine in. Each time you fold it wears the rivet a little and they become looser.

I've "fixed" mine with the gorilla putty... I can still fold it back.

Actually since it's legal to lanesplit in CA, I fold them back and forth 10x almost every day. My right mirror is perfectly fine, my left not so much until I added the gorilla putty. With the putty, it doesn't lock in place anymore, but it definitely is much tighter although I'm thinking that it may eventually loosen even further
