So I posted this in my other forum but thought I'd share here too:

There's a chance (actually fairly small) that I will be going to the keys next week with the bike. Everything will have to align perfectly, but I'm letting myself daydream and get excited.

It's another one of those "friend of friend" things: see my buddy has an amigo that has to go to Miami for work (some trade show or something) and HATES making that drive alone. He's always looking for someone to go with him - free of charge. Well he has an SUV and I said I'd go if we could trailer my bike and I'd go down to the keys while he was at the trade show.

He isn't sure he wants to trailer something that far but will let me know today. I'd still have to get off work and line up a trailer but if he says he'd do it I will do everything in my power to make it happen. A week of riding and diving in the keys... sign me up.

I've been wanting to make a Keys trip even in my wifes Cabriolet but from where I live its 2 freaking days each way.
I did drive the keys once when I was working in Miami and took the rental car down there and back for a couple days but not the same thing.

The riding itself will be hot and flat but the scenery is good and lots of places worth stopping and sightseeing.
Bahia Honda State park would be an awesome place to camp if you wanted to but you probably have to reserve a space way in advance.

Thanks!

Yeah if this opportunity pans out it'll pretty fun and unique.

My plan now is to stop in Largo and check out Pennekamp Park, check out Marathon, and make it to Key West. And stop wherever else looks fun or interesting.
