Ok. So I dont act my age. I'm a 48 year old metal music fan. :headbang:
Who's with me? What are some of your favorite bands? Which shows have you attended?
I just love the power of the music, and the technical drumming and guitar work.
Yeah...some of the "singing" gets a little over the top. But it's not all bad.

This was on my mind tonight, as I was at a show tonight and met a dude wearing a Triumph hat, and found out he has a Speed Triple, and his dad has a Street Triple.

This is the show we were at tonight. Lamb of God is one of my favorites. I just love the drumming of Chris Adler, and his brother Willie's guitar style. Although Mark Morton kicks azz as well on guitar.

I love my metal!!

Been listening too a lot of Stone Sour. Can't get enough of Corey Taylor's vocals at the moment. Saw both Slipknot and Stone Sour at the last 2 Soundwave festivals here in Brisbane.. Amazing!!

Old school metal like Ministry really gets my blood pumping.

New stuff like Black Veiled Brides makes me want to stab them in the eye!!.. ****ing hate them!

Rock on!!
Great thread. It'll be interesting to see what the trend is in favorite bands. I've been an Avenged Sevenfold fan since almost the beginning. If you haven't seen them or Bullet for my Valentine live, you're missing out. They're both amazing. I'm also huge into All That Remains, but they rather suck live.

I don't know how you only name a few bands. Atreyu, Mudvayne, Disturbed, Trivium, Killswitch Engage. It's all so badass.

That must have been one kick ass show. love Lamb of God and Im glad to see Jesse
leach back with killswitch. Did they play any old stuff from alive or just breathing. His last band seemless was also great. Im curently on a Devildriver kick. Nothing gets you pumped like a Ddriver song.
Haven't been to a show in over a year now, big old school thrash fan. Slayer a couple times, Megadeth a couple times, including the Rust In Peace 20th anniversary tour, Testament, Exodus. I've been trying to get to a Lamb of God show for years. Children Of Bodom and Unearth put on great shows. I also highly recommend Between The Buried And Me. So many good bands in the genre.
One of the best shows I've been to was 'the Unholy Alliance' tour in 2005. The lineup was unbelievable! Slayer, Lamb of God, Mastodon, and Children of Bodom.

I love metal! Thrash, Death, Speed, sludge, metalcore, Black, etc.

Anyone have a chance to see the Big 4 tour?

Currently living in my iPod:
Opeth, Deftones, In Flames, All That Remains, Lamb of God, Shadows Fall, Arch Enemy, Devil Driver, 5FDP, Nightrage, and a smattering of others that I can't recall off the top of my head.

I sit at a computer all day at work (CADD monkey) and I've either got Pandora or Rdio feeding be some double kick bass most of the day.

Jessie sounded great, but they mostly did the Howard songs. But Jessie put a lot of passion into them. He was feeling it.

Oh! I'm going to this show this saturday.

I don't listen to metal nearly as much anymore, but some of my favorites:

In Flames
Iced Earth
Metallica (older)
Iron Maiden
Symphony X

And various other songs by other artists.

Lately, I'm more of a Mumford and Sons/Lumineers type of guy though. Not exactly metal.

Been all about metal since middle school!

Metallica, Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Dio, Black Sabbath, Disturbed, Godsmack, Mudvayne, Slipknot, Korn ... just to name a few. My favorite band right now would be Five Finger! Absolutely love this band.

I've been lucky enough to see all of these bands and then some, at least once.
One of the best shows I've been to was 'the Unholy Alliance' tour in 2005. The lineup was unbelievable! Slayer, Lamb of God, Mastodon, and Children of Bodom.

Damn dude. Just realized this was your 1st post on the forum.
Welcome!
You 19 year old Squids are cracking me up with this Jersey Shore tunage, but
I guess metal beats Mumford and Sons.

That's what Mark Smith said.

Not metal, cause real metal sucks a D. but,

Tool
Deftones
Rage Against the Machine
Toadies
Queens of the Stone Age
Really anything 90's and 60-70's rock

Real metal is annoying, to much stupid drum kicks and horrible vocals.

Most modern "metal" bands are just really emo'ish

Though the chick from In This Moment gives me wood.

lastly Metallica is one of the worse rock bands ever. They could also suck a D.

Disagree. Metallica's contribution to comedy in 'Some kind of Monster' cannot be overstated.

OB just for future knowledge I read all of your posts in my horrible version of a Australian accent.
They make me laugh even more.

Highly disagree.

Their new stuff sucks, yes. But, Master of Puppets and Black are amazing albums.
If you say so, but I have never been impressed by them and do not get why people love them the way they do.
Their music to me is what I like to call dumpster music. Because after I bought one of their CDs it ended up in the dumpster. Now go listen to Maynard, or any of the listed above and let your mind be amazed by the GODS!
