The issue is that the engine makes a tick at idle and up to 3000 rpm one the bike is fully hot. It is almost silent until it warms up, then I hear the tick...

The bike used to make a faint tick at idle now and then but lately it has become more consistent. It is fairly loud as I can hear it over my two brothers at idle and low RPM riding. My other 06' 675 doesn't make this sound.

My though were:

Possible exhaust leak between the exhaust header on one of the three ports or valves...

The bike has been meticulously maintained with synth. oil since new, it now has 17,500 miles. Valves were within tolerance at 10,000 miles...

The sometimes if I rev the bike, it takes a few seconds to hear the tick at idle.

Please advise as I don't have the money to take the bike to the shop...
