I've done it once before, and I thought someone had posted a detailed how to with pics ... I have searched high and low, and i can not find a detailed how to. Is there one ? my main question is - what is the best trick for raising or lowering the frame onto the new motor ?
....
I am finally about to put my "supersport" motor into my '06 daytona .... :surprise::smile2::smile2:

Here's the thread where I posted pictures of my teardown.

Do you have a service manual? It really helps to have the correct frame adjuster tool. Also make sure you have new engine mount nuts (they go on the bolts up by the radiator) ready to go.

The easiest way to put in the new engine is to have it on the ground just like my last picture, then lower the frame onto it from the back. That means removing the wheels and forks (and maybe swingarm if you want to make it really easy) but that only adds about an extra hour.

The other way to do it is to place the engine on a floor jack and slowly raise it up into the frame. Not as easy to align everything but it'll save you time not having to take everything off the frame.
