Searched and found nothing on this topic. I want to buy a spare fuel tank to swap out when I go to the track. What parts do I need to make this a complete swap out?

Thanks in advance

Depending on what the tank comes with, you'll probably need:

1 Fuel cap
1 Fuel Pump
1 Bracket assembly which connects the tank to the frame

Pretty much everything else can easily be switched when swapping the tanks. Earlier model tanks will work on newer generation bikes.

So you can run race gas or just a dented tank so you don't have to worry about if it gets hurt?

All you need is the tank...the wires and tubes should(5 I believe) should all match up, plug n play. Take the two top bolts(By steering) and the pivot bolt under the seat along with the 5 wires and tubes and it is taken off.

most tanks I run across come with what tapcon says. People refer to fuel pumps as peacocks too(if my spelling is right)

pretty much what Tom said here. I just ordered all the brackets and such needed for my track tank from my dealership, ran me just under $30. My tank came with a fuel pump (2 actually) so I didn't need those and I got a spiffy LighTech keyless cap for Christmas from my mom. Make sure your tank has the two internal lines for breathing/ draining spilled gas from the cap.

Also what is a good price to pay for a spare tank? One that has no damage vs. one that has minor damage/dent. New vs. Used? I'm currently looking at 3 of them on the "bay". Anyone have any dealings with these guys?

Spare tank so that when I wreck, I will not damage my stock tank. I'm not anywhere near the skill level where I need the extra few ponies provided by race fuels.

those all look decent, but you'll pay a premium to ship from overseas... if you can get one for around $300, you've done pretty well. You'll save a ton buying a dented/ scratched one and just popping out the dent and repainting yourself. New ones go for $800+ at the dealership. Check the classifieds forum for one, they pop up on occasion. You can also post a WTB add in the classifieds forum, that's how I got mine.

How valid is this comment?

You are bidding on the gas tank that came off 2004 Triumph Daytona 600. Good working condition. INCLUDES THE GAS TANK ONLY. Comes just as you see in picture. Few scratches, as pictured. Good working condition.
Some parts from this bike may fit on the 600 and 650 675 Daytona, and different years as well.

I can't imagine that this tank would fit on a 675????

I agree. I should have been more specific when I said "Older Models" should include '06 and above are all interchangeable.
