I will be doing my first track day on my street triple March 13th in Las Vegas. I was doing some reading and they say you should change your oil before track day, and should change coolant to distilled water I believe.
I'm at 4k on my bike and was going to do oil change at the 6k mark, do you guys believe I should change it before the track, is it really necessary?

Thanks

1 track day, especially in novice group and especially your first, won't be hard enough on your bike to warrant an oil change. Do it at 6k.

If the track org doesn't require you to change your coolant, leave the stuff you've got in there or at least use something like Engine Ice or Cool-Aide. It's much better than water for lube & corrosion prevention.

Thanks for the peace of mind. I will not abuse this bike on track and will take it easy, I just want to learn, don't have the cash to crash. I tracked my car many times, and didn't have any fear to push to the limit, but if you spin out in a car, doesn't have the same effects!
