I just stick to TJ most of the time. I do like revzilla detail videos, but STG has good videos also.

Revzilla does carry a few things RD doesn't though. Like Puma boots which I prefer and own a few pairs of becuase they are the best for me, but other than that I stick to TJ.

So much hate for a company. Sheesh, you guys need to take some happy pills. CG stocks dainese and they have quite a few locations. So you don't like a brand, don't buy it. Capitalism and options are GOOD things! I'll let the hate continue to flow through your veins.
Very true they carry top end brands but over time they have slowly added more and more of their Bilt and Sedici crap and moving out the top end brands.

Don't get me wrong about Cycle Gear. They're smart enough to have brands like A* and Dainese in stock but what they do have is typically the higher priced models. Then they place that right next to the Bilt or Sedici stuff and it's a no-brainer for the new rider or the rider on a short budget. Personally, I've seen Sedici gear fail at the track. A rider was in a pinch for gloves and bought some Sedici gloves. A fairly slow low side ripped right through the palms and luckily he didn't get too rashed up.

What a relief! Now the whining can end until somebody finds something new :)
Sorry man, there's still plenty to whine about here. Read about the downsides of leveraged recapitalization and buyout. When a company is bought out, the focus moves away from the customers and towards the shareholders or owners who need to repay the debt burden from the purchase.

There is NO SUCH THING as a company who buys another company and doesn't want to make changes. The Revzilla owners sold out. They can sit and spin press releases and web updates talking about "how awesome this is" all they want, but smart customers know that this kind of move is never for the good of the customer.

RevZilla's mission will remain to advance the experience of the motorcycle enthusiast
Revzilla's mission is now to make money for J.W. Childs.

Depends on what changes they want to make. Revzilla has been growing and doing well. Expanding internationally would be a smart move. Additional "destination stores" would also be a plus.

Even in the DC metro area where there are a lot of people with money, there really aren't any motorcycle shops which carry a lot of high end gear. Revzilla's store in Philly has a lot. If I'm ever in the area (within 50 miles) I stop by to check out gear I can't find anywhere else.

I could see them keeping CG lower end for new riders and keeping Revzilla high end. Both companies sell a bit on either spectrum, but they're already pretty focused. Honing in on that focus would ensure they compete with each other less.

I kind of see it as RevZilla is just trying to expand. I think it would be a smart move, as Cycle Gear gets a lot of bashing but they typically seem to support the local motorcycle community. While their gear is not what I prefer, the one here in Kansas seems to get decent amount of business for this area.
I could see RevZilla using them to get more stores, and also help on the cost of shipping product.

Not sure why you're quoting something I didn't even say, but okay, I guess? I'm not here to discuss the business reasons of why acquisitions, mergers, and divestitures happen; it's what I do all day. I think it's funny when a person or company gets branded as a sell-out. The goal, after all, is to make money. It doesn't even take a degree to figure that out! Do you think people really give two shits about being labeled a sell-out if they made a smart business decision? Sure the business will evolve, either for the better or worse. But do they care what happens now if they achieved their goal of making themselves wealthier than they began? Or do you really think they're heartbroken and can't sleep at night?

Oh, no arguments there. I read "selling out" as more like cashing in and winning the business game. Good for them, they have done well for themselves. They aren't heartbroken... they are having a party.

The people who don't win are the customers.

I'm just saying how things are. This doesn't really affect me personally that much. I've bought some things from them. If in the future I may still buy from them or I may buy elsewhere. No biggie.

Damn these guys are smart! Well spoken, informative letter to the community they serve

essentially, Revzilla is taking over because they have business sense and leadership.

keep going!
LOL! Same link I posted the other day! I too agree that it was a well articulated letter to the customers. Only time will tell whether they hold to their word and remain two separate entities.

"If we can’t continue to make RevZilla better while keeping our promises, you should shop somewhere else. RevZilla exists because we wouldn’t stand for any less, and neither should you."

Well there it is! 'Nuff said in my book!

I've solely used Revzilla since being stationed overseas and they have taken care of a return as well as a jacket that stalled during the shipping process. They immediately mailed out a replacement. Their live chat has been on point too and got me the right size jacket and pants first try!
