Hi there I am from Australia and I might be moving to Canada in 6 months to live for a few years and I am having trouble finding a Canadian motorcycle sales website. In Australia we have sites such as http://bikesales.com.au and http://bikepoint.com.au
I have also been looking for a Canada sub forum and there doesn't seem to be one, so finding area specific Canada riders is getting difficult.

Can anyone steer me to a website to buy new and used motorcycles specifically the Vancouver BC area(s) but not limited to that area.
Any info on maybe shipping a bike from Aus to Can and the legalities involved, registration licence requirements etc.

Thank you in advance for any info .

Some larger buy/sell pages in Canada are http://www.autotrader.ca/motorcycles_atvs and http://vancouver.kijiji.ca/f-cars-vehicles-motorcycles-W0QQCatIdZ30 or through local forums such as http://www.bcsportbikes.com/forum/ or the local Toronto one that I frequent: http://www.gtamotorcycle.com/vbforum/index.php

I don't know much about importing a bike from Australia to Canada...It has become quite common in recent years for Canadians to purchase from the US and import with the Canadian dollar doing so well vs. the US dollar.

This thread should help: http://www.gtamotorcycle.com/vbforu...-Motor-Vehicle-To-Canada-(the-be-all-end-all)

all the best...I hope you make it to our great country

Welcome to Canada... have fun on the Left Coast

Here are a couple rider sites from BC.

http://www.bccruisers.ca/

http://www.gvmc.ca/

I'm sure there are others but this should be a good start. I don't live in BC and unfortunately have never riden my bike out there but they have some fantastic roads. I'm sure you'll enjoy riding there (if you can handle the rain).

Here is a link to the ICBC website showing how to transfer your license when you arrive.

Here is a line from the Government of Canada on importing a vehicle into Canada from a Country other than the USA.

http://www.tc.gc.ca/eng/roadsafety/safevehicles-importation-other-than-index-446.htm

Don't quote me but I think because you are moving to Canada (and bringing your bike with you rather than importing it) it might not actually apply to you. Might be worth checking with them to be sure.

Lastly, from what I read on this forum, Triumph's seem to be a lot more expensive in Aus than in Canada. Full retail for a 2011 Daytona 675 is $11,999 CDN and the 2010 Street Triple is $9,999 Cdn. Perhaps it's better to buy something when you get here.
