So during the first session of qualifying for the ASC round at Winton, my motor seized up. Sounds like main bearing has gone.
So do I buy another motor, or as I have lined up, get the famed engine builder Andrew Hallam to work his magic on it?

Is that one of Andy's old bikes? He liked to set the rev limit high on his bikes.
I'd pull the blown motor apart first and see whats damaged. As far as I'm aware there are no over sized bearings for the crank.

You could buy a wreck, strip the engine and then flog the rest. If you don't pay too much up front then you could even make enough to cover any work you have done to the engine afterwards.

Have had the bike repaired.
I was able to source an engine and use my head on it. Hallam Racing did the work- what a great guy Andrew is.
He upgraded the oil pump, I'm not sure exactly what was done as I didn't get to speak to him when the motor was picked up. Apparently it's a must do if racing them.
Put it all back together and was going to drop it off at the Dyno tuners, but I somehow damaged the radiator and its pissing water out. So drove the 4 hrs home and fitted the spare radiator I had. Back to Melbourne next week for Dyno.
The motor sounds great! Can't wait for the final round of ASC in December at SMSP.

I've also got one of Andy's old bikes with a Hallam built motor and it sure is strong. It helped me win the State Supersport C grade series this year and placed me 4th overall in the State Championships as well as a club 600 round win at an ASBK event.

Wasn't you by any chance who was speaking to Andy last week in regards to some engine cases for a rebuild?
