I was riding today in the mountains. 3rd gear I went to accelerate between 6-8 rpms the bike would bog down or lose power. Thought I was low on fuel. Went filled up and accelerated up to 10-12k got to 4th gear it started sputtering again. Let off and low rpms are fine but higher rpms it loses power. So I headed home riding around 6k and the bike bogged down and cut off. I pulled over started back up with no problem and rode on home. Changed the fuel filter about 2 months ago but I checked the lines they aren't kinked. Any ideas what I should check

Check spark plugs and spark cables - try changing the spark plugs with new ones and see if that solves the problem - my old bike did the same - changed spark plug and ran heavenly.

Just thought about but I been having some problems with the exup valve. I took it apart sprayed and greased it but sometimes it still doesn't work properly on startup but once it warms up I can cycle it thru the 3 start ups and get rid of the cel. Could that cause a problem if it's not opening or closing at higher rpms? I would think the cel would come on if that was the problem and when I accelerated it wasn't giving a light when it was bogging down.

Could be - you might wanna have the bike checked overall by a mechanic

If it is the ExUp valve, just remove it and turn off its functioning in TuneECU.

Update: I think I found the problem. It was the exup valve. Pinned it open and the issue is gone. I think it was getting stuck closed and messing up the back pressure. I going have to go ride for a few hours and make sure but I think it's fixed

Default is open on the exup valve. Did you also disable the exup in the ECU?

Yeah it was stuck closed so I sprayed, cleaned and greased it. Got it open with the spring for now and I ordered a servo buddy to get rid of the light.

Just curious about this issue, when folks remove the exup valve, that would reduce back pressure on lower rpms right? And wouldn't that make the bike produce lesser power in those lower rpm’s? What would be the point of this if one was keeping the OEM exhaust?

I have the oem exhaust but the motor to the valve was malfunctioning. Since I took it off I haven't had any problems and haven't noticed much if any difference at low rpms. It's just a little louder is the only real difference
