Hey guys,

Can anybody here help me with the sizes of the different colour codes on the bearing shells ?

Found two different bearing shells for the conrods ( white and red )
Found four codes for the main bearings ( white red blue and green )
I don't find the corresponding sizes, anyone ???

Grtz from Belgium

The procedure is in the workshop manual, have you measured your current big end clearance with plasti-guage and the crank journals with a
micrometer which has been checked with a certified test bar?
You then workout what shells are needed from the two previous measurements.
Out of curiosity why do need to rebuild the bottom end?

Hi,
Thnx for reply ! My engine suffered from loss of oil pressure when on iddle, I opened the block halves and spotted one main bearing that has turned 25°. Luckely there is no dammage on the crankshaft. Measured everything and all looks within the limits. I could only spot one bearing with the colour spot still on ( a red one ). All the tabs have the same size exept the last main bearing which is 1/100 mm smaller. Thats why I asked the question to know the differences between the colours.
