Hello from England

I am 70 years old and have not owned a bike for 40 years, just bought a 2010 street triple. If this is a mid life crisis I must be planning to live to 140.
Yes things have changed a lot since my days and I have a lot to relearn.
My bike was cheap because, and you will not be surprised, it had a charging problem.
The seller had changed the RR and the stator and given up.
I tried to order a new Stator and RR from Electrex World but the stator is out of stock (4 week wait) but I found a second hand one with only 3 coils a little browner than the others, unlike mine which has 15 charcoal black and 3 copper coloured.
The new RR bypasses the loom and connects directly to the battery, they also supplied new fitting to replace the stator connector suggesting the spade ends are crimped and soldered. I cut off their plug and the stator plug to directly soldered the three AC wires together.
I have added a small voltmeter to the instrument cluster to watch for problems.

So far (45 miles) all is working correctly.

Street Triple
