Bike Won't Start: fuel in oil, fire from exhaust

Hi 675 forum, I could use some help diagnosing what's wrong with my bike.

Bike: 2006 Daytona 675, 4100 original miles

Symptoms:
*bike shut off while riding on the highway, I pulled over, bike wouldn't start. When I stood it upright from the sidestand I had fire coming from the muffler which went out in about 10 seconds.
*CEL; bike still won't start
*I changed the oil and noticed a strong guzzoline smell coming from the used oil.

While discussing this with the original owner (I am the second owner; I've only put a couple hundred miles on it), I learned that he never replaced the recalled rectifier/regulator. I just ordered a MOSFET unit from Rick's. I'm not sure if this is causing the issue, but I imagine it should be replaced regardless.

I would really appreciate any insight.

Thanks,
Brandon

Fuel injector(s) stuck open would be my guess. Pull the plugs to see which is soaked in gas.

The sooner you introduce motorcycles into your children's lives, the less likely they'll have money for drugs, alcohol and cigarettes as teenagers.
