Track Helmet With Large Eyeport?

Hey guys,

My brow of my helmet blocks my view down the track, even with extra foam stuck to the liner.

I'm looking for a helmet with a large eyeport - especially in the vertical dimension (peripheral vision hasn't been a problem).

I'm told the AGV Corsa and Bell Race Star have large eyeports.

Any others I should consider?

Thanks much.

What is your helmet now?

Shoei X-14 has adjustable inner liner to help with this issue.

Do you have a head shape for the Bell Star or AGV Corsa helmets? I would look into whichever one fits you the best before you decide.
Either one is a great helmet and I currently use an older model Bell Star before they changed the head shape to more of an Intermediate-slightly narrow internal shape. I found the new AGVs to be the same shape internally as the new Bells. I have no issues with my Bell Star seeing out of the top of the helmet at full tuck on the track, and I think the newer ones are even better at eye-port visibility. Although, to be honest, I have never had an issue where I couldn't see part of the track because of the top of my helmets.

By the way, if you have a more neutral / slighty round head shape like mine, the only current helmets that I have found that fit properly are the Arais.

Thanks guys. I've got an Arai Corsair V. It fits my head better than Shoei models I've had in years past. I suppose my head is more "round" than "intermediate oval." It's hard to tell with such a lumpy noggin!

I'll check out the Bell Star and AGV Corsa. I also heard the Nexx XR2 has a large eyeport.

Just went to a Pista GP R from a Nexx XR2, visibility on both is excellent.

For what it's worth, part of what appealed to me about the Pista was how customizable the fit of the liner is. I'm still fine tuning it for me but it is tremendously comfortable on the track.

You may not be a fan of them but HJC makes a great helmet with the RPHA-11 Pro. The eye port has been increased both vertically and horizontally. It's stupid light, lighter than the Bell Star and Shoei X-14. I fit into the Arai Corsair but it's HEAVY compared to the HJC line. I was in an RX-Q then went to the RPHA-10 Pro and upgraded to the RPHA-11 Pro!

+1 on HJC
I am currently using an RPHA10 and it's just perfect. Will be looking to upgrade soon to either the RPHA11 or the Shoei X-14.
Another racing helmet to consider for the OP is the Nolan X-Lite X-802RR.
MY friend has one in full carbon and he loves it. Ultra light helmet.

I've have your Arai and the new RPHA. They both fit me well but the Bell is instant headache. The RPHA definitely has a larger eyeport and might even weight a tad less. It's a very nice helmet. I went back to Arai because I got a Nicky replica for the same price as the RPHA which I had a little off with so it was time for a new helmet.

Went from HJC Alpa to AGV corsa and it's the best helmet I have ever purchased and used. Eye port is great. I only ride at the track and vision from the top of the eye port is very important while in full tuck.

Honestly, if you fit into the RPHA series you won't fit into the X-14 or the Corsa. @cjc you mentioned your head shape is neutral to slightly round, the RPHA will fit great! I am in that category. I tried the X-14 and it is incredibly narrow! The AGV helmets have always been narrow to me. When I wore a GP-Tech, I kind-of sucked it up with the fitment! Stupid me I know! Give the HJC helmets a shot. If taller eye port is what you're looking for, I'd opt for the 11 Pro versus the 10 Pro.

When I get off my lazy butt, I plan on doing a full review of the 11 Pro!
