The Rules for all Vendors -- read before posting please

Vendors and dealers are welcome on forums, under the following guidelines (I hate to use the word 'rules', but yes, you must follow the guidelines.. they're not suggestions):

Rules for all Vendors
1. Vendors are welcome to participate on all the forums, but must always have their business info showing in their signature. This is a courtesy to our 'regular' members, so they know you sell something mc-related. Your full business name is fine, and/or a link to your website - as long as it's clear you run a mc-related enterprise. I will allow a simple, tasteful banner ad in your signature (static only -- absolutely NO flashing gif's), but it can be no bigger than 400x60 pixels, like below. You'll have to use vBcode in your signature to create your banner display, not HTML code.

For example, putting this code in your sig:
[@url=] [@[email protected]][@/[email protected]] [@/[email protected]]

(but removing all the '@' symbols) ...will give you this banner in your sig:

and, when someone clicks on the banner image (..banner-bord.jpg), it opens a new window taking them to the target site (main.htm). Obviously replace '' with your actual domain name.

2. Vendors should post general information about their business, in the appropriate Vendor forum ONLY, and only ONCE. You may bump that topic up to the top of the list, but not more than once per month. I want to be fair to all vendors who post here, but I'll be just a little biased toward those who take the time to re-visit the forum regularly. In your general post, take a few minutes to describe your business philosophy, and any other useful info, like your location, hours of operation, contact name(s), if you're a dealer do you allow test rides, etc.

Regular members are asked not to reply to Vendor Forum topics unless it's really necessary... send the Vendor member a PM instead.

3. Vendors may also post a new topic in the Vendor forum for their Specials, but not more than once in any month, and no bumping allowed on these posts. Prefix the topic with 'Special:__' so we know.

4. Please refrain from contacting members privately with the sole intent of selling them something. This is spam and we don't need it.

ANY violation of the above, you'll be banned from the forums. Ok, sorry for the harsh tone, but out of every 20 decent people there'll be one or two jerks who need the enforcement.

Prizes and Favours won't be accepting donations from vendors, or any other favours, in exchange for special consideration. However, vendors may offer our members the chance to win a prize, as a special promotion or raffle. Use the same guidelines as #3 above.

This will be an ad-free site for the most part. Only those vendors who are actively participating in the forums will gain broad exposure via their sig. All commercial activity stays in the Marketplace forums.

Thanks in advance for your co-operation.
