Daytona 765 Prototype tested by MCN

• Triumph’s 765cc Moto2 ‘engine development prototype’ machine
• Street Triple RS motor with more power, higher revs and less weight.
• Taller first gear
• Slimmer engine covers for more lean angle
• Daytona 675 chassis
• Race suspension and wheels
• Moto2 Dunlop slicks

"In 2019 Moto2 will be powered by three-cylinder 765cc Triumph engines. It’s out with the peaky CBR600RR screamers and in with the angry rasp of Britain’s best. MCN Chief Road Tester, Michael Neeves, rode the prototype bike and says: "It's so good, they should make a road version." Read all about it in January 17 issue of MCN.

Looks rad as hell.

There is zero chance there isn't a Daytona 765 in the future.

Everyone's favorite lurker-without-a-Triumph-anymore.

I laughed at that too. More likely to lessen the likelihood of oiling the track in a crash, although the left cover is slimmer simply because the race kit alternator is tiny.

I can't wait to hear 40 Triumphs rumbling down the front stretch!

I just noticed in the pictures. They have the Gen 3 675R dash! Not some Magnetti Marelli unit!

That’s to come later. This was just a test mule for the motor.
