Agreed, some form of splitting the field would be nice.

I think set date for when you can submit, then voting is stared/end on specified days would be good enough.
the minimum post requirement is merely to keep it to members who have contributed to the community, although some members in the past have spammed their way into the Classified section with multiple posts of "nice bike" or some other sort of vapid posting.

Yes, there will be an entry thread open for the first three weeks of the month, where members post their bikes. Then a voting thread will be created, where ALL members will be able to vote(on bikes from the entry thread) until the end of the month.

I was going to make this as autonomous as possible. the entry thread would be for members to post their own bikes/list of mods. they would be able to enter as many times as they wished so long as they weren't a previous winner. Plus this would eliminate members from nominating a bike that had previously won a BOTM
After the allotted time, I would copy the pics into another thread, with a poll for all members to vote on. possibly made a force read with the help of the Administrator

The minimum post count would only be for the BOTM Entrants, not for the Voting thread.

The Daytona/ST3 split is a good idea. apples to apples, so to speak.

One more thing. for BOTY, the previous 12 months of winners would be voted on by the members.

I've already won BOTM, so no can do. But I like your thinking!

I'd go for option 2 also. If you are going to split the models then I'd say just Daytona and Street. If you make further categories for race bikes, etc, then things will just get too complicated in my opinion.

However I don't see why we can't just leave it as one category with Daytonas and Streets competing against each other. It's the level and quality of modification we're judging.

I also agree with spitting Daytona/Street Triple so your comparing like for like.

I misunderstood earlier about minimum number of posts. I DO agree that you can't vote unless you have a certain number of posts. I understood that differently at first and I'm glad that is cleared up.
